  • This book explores hate speech and blasphemy by analyzing the colonial laws that continue to shape twenty-first-century structures of feeling. It is a study of secularism as global political form, as refracted through a single law: Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, which criminalizes outraging religious feelings.

Is this guy for real? “Slandering the Religious” is what they are thinking about. And does this guy even know the difference between Religion and a Cult? Is there even an iota of spirituality in Islam? It is blasphemous for Pakistanis to be discussing this topic, not until they bring in some semblance of spirituality in their daily existence! Sufi Islam tried to do so but Pakistan does not consider them to be Islamic.
The author (whose only intention seems to be to promote his book) seems to be rambling more about laws in India.

Thinkfest Pakistan should be about Pakistan. Unfortunately its focus is how to criticize India. Most of the problems they talk about, I believe is and has been more acute in Pakistan. Now how will this help Pakistan?

@@anjan67 no one is discussing ‘india’. They are discussing a law (295) which was introduced in British india which was the entire subcontinent, very different from today’s ‘republic of india’. That reminds me, didn’t you change your name from india to bharat officially?? 🤔
