    Its been about 7 years now since I had KS, I went thru 2 8 weeks sessions of Chemo (Doxcil), My symptoms were not visible, I had it on my lungs and Lymph Nodes in my groin area. I had a few Thalium Scans in between sessions since nothing was visible, my very last chemo session I had a reaction to the Doxcil and gave me the shakes that I could not control. I always think it may come back but doing well since I have been on my meds

    An endothelia malignancy with a predeliction for the immunosuppressed is an interesting epidemiology and morphology. However, my preference of Kaposi Sarcoma (KS) is the prognosis: "People [usually] die with it, not of it...." Excellent expose, Arst Gardner....Cheerz

    Thank you so much. I finally understand the promontory sign! And patch stage Kapaosi sarcoma is now a little less daunting.

    regarding the deposition of black pigment in lymph nodes or elsewhere, maybe that it isn't always exogenous, an endogenous cause could be chronic depression...

    Can you tell me more information about FLI1 antibody. I've used it in some vascular tumors but it seems it's not specific, as epithelial cells are also got nuclear labeling

    • @JMGardnerMD
      @JMGardnerMD  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t routinely use it as a vascular marker because I don’t feel that it works very well.

    Hi I was diagnosted with kaposi sarcoma and hiv two months ago. I’m taking biktarvy every day, but I don’t see any changes on the marks on my skin. Do you know if I need another type of treatment

    • @JMGardnerMD
      @JMGardnerMD  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I actually don’t know how long it takes for Kaposi to regress with HIV treatment. I don’t see HIV-associated kaposi sarcoma in my practice very often. And even when I do, I only diagnose it, I don’t treat it myself. I wonder if maybe Kaposi sarcoma response to HIV treatment is related to HIV viral load and CD4 count?. I’m not sure. That would be a good question to ask your HIV doctors. Be sure to keep following up with them and taking your meds as directed by them. HIV treatment has improved so much in modern times, but I sometimes see patients who have bad problems because the stop taking their HIV medications or following their doctor’s orders. Best wishes to you for health and healing! Jerad

    Hi sir, is there a cure for low grade myofibroblastic sarcoma that occurred in thigh? If so what's the treatment?

    • @JMGardnerMD
      @JMGardnerMD  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sarcoma is usually treated by wide local excision (surgical removal).Radiation or other therapy may sometimes be used depending on the individual case. I do not treat sarcoma I only diagnose them. If you or a loved one has this rare type of sarcoma, it may be a good idea to get the pathology reviewed by an expert to confirm the diagnosis and to seek care at a sarcoma center that has expertise in sarcoma treatment.
