Ivan is bringing the Rotary back to detailing! One of the best ways to polish as long as you use very low speed and a few simple polishing techniques, it is a very safe way to polish. I have been using a rotary to polish for well over 35+ years and it was the first machine I learned on helping my friend with his detailing business as a side job. It's the best way to "jewel paint" for sure on either a finishing pad or wax pad with little to no cut using low speed and very slow arm movement. While I use a DA the majority of the time now, I do still use my rotary to jewel out and finish paint. I personally like using my Flex KOMPAKT rotary polisher. Plenty of power and not as large as the standard sized rotaries available. I have had mine for many years and it still works great. And the fact you can use many different pads on it is great. I use from 1 inch pads all the way up to 5 inch pads on it, although it's only supposed to be 3 inch and down. Thanks for posting Brian and thanks for everything you do for the detailing community.
Hi Brian. Seems you had a very good teacher on how to use a rotary 😁! "You paid for that tool, let the machine work for you !" Smart advice from Ivan 😉
This was a cool video brother. Like you said, being able to see real time how the temp increases was legit. I guess Smurf gotta get a rotory! 👍🤙great video!
I would never use rotary because I am not a pro. But I must admit that since the compound and the pads are so much better than they were 20 years ago, they do help in reducing novices mistakes. Thanks for the demo.
@@fiouable With all the technology in products and tools now it makes it harder to mess up but can still be done. Using the rotary to finish is a time saver and you get amazing results like that. Thanks for watching
I'm not a pro in fact I never polished before but I used the diy detail system(polish, pad and rotary polisher) on a black gm vehicle and it came out looking awesome. You'll be fine if you try it.
May i mentioned that you might got lower temp with the rotary at speed 1 and the red pad because its a waffle pad compared to what looks like a diamond shape pad on the DA? Great test tho. Just a theory
@@Marketing4Money It’s also softer than the orange pad but that was the purpose of the video. To show a rotary the way I use it makes less heat than the way I use a DA. Thanks for watching
@@rongamble9884 DIY Detail and I have no idea how much it weighs. Brand really doesn’t matter when it comes to a rotary they are all pretty much the same.
@FABAutomotiveDetailing 👍I'm in the market for a light weight one I have a bauer it's about 8 lbs went back to using my pneumatic buffer it weighs 4 lbs but looking for a electric that is lighter than 8 lbs
@@hartlanddetailer5670 Yes they do but mine doesn’t because I bought it at their Garage Sale they used to have here in Indy once a year. They would sell items returned to the facility for a fraction of the cost but with no warranty. I’ve been using it for atleast 6 years now so I’m happy with it for only paying $50 for it.

Crazy to see how fast that smoked and threw itself off the hood. Great inside info though.

Can you show how to polish an RV on a future video. Rotary and DA difference on one would be great
