- "White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the version sung by Bing Crosby is the best-selling single of all time, with estimated sales in excess of 50 million copies worldwide.
Accounts vary as to when and where Berlin wrote the song. One story is that he wrote it in 1940, in warm La Quinta, California, while staying at the La Quinta Hotel, a frequent Hollywood retreat also favored by writer-producer Frank Capra, although the Arizona Biltmore also claims the song was written there.He often stayed up all night writing - he told his secretary, "Grab your pen and take down this song. I just wrote the best song I've ever written - heck, I just wrote the best song that anybody's ever written!"

I was disappointed to find out that this is not the full movie as it states. They are only bits and pieces of the movie. I love this movie. Watched it as a kid every Christmas with the my family. The best Christmas movie ever. It still brings tears to my eyes. Great actors, well chosen.
All of four brilliant stars were gone a long time ago, but they live very vividly in this film as if they are still alive. It makes me cry.

My kids and I would watch the film in our little cabin in NorCal watching the snow fall and drinking hot chocolate. I watch this with my daughter who is now 7 at least 3 times every year. By far my favorite Xmas movie. Seeing the WW2 Vets reunite always has a special place for me since the real ones are almost all gone now and the only reunions going on are in heaven.

This will always be my favorite Christmas movie.
My parents took me to see the movie that this scene is from when I was 14 years old. I believe it was called “White Christmas”. No one sang White Christmas like Bing Crosby. I believe his recording of the song has sold more records than any other. Irving Berlin composed it. He also wrote “God Bless America”. What a great composer he was!!!
I first heard White Christmas by Bing Crosby when it came out in the mid 1940s. Later Rosemary Clooney recorded it. Since then , for me, White Christmas by Rosemary was Christmas. Boy! I really miss her. Every Christmas Season I manage to watch that movie and the memories it brings are unreal. Thanks Rosemary !

+Lauren Barker The song you mean (which is another great one from this great old gem with amazing tight harmonies) is simply called "Snow" and is sung by the quartet on the train ride to the resort. "Let it Snow" is a totally different song and not in this film, sorry.

I saw this movie of Bing Crosby when I was a young boy at the era of 1950s,I was born on Oct.5,1942 in the mid of fighting of Wold War Two,really missed those happy day's that will never come back again,Merry Christmas to all,I can greet you all people ,,cause this is the first day of December of 2017 Happy New Year too ,Feliz Navidad,Prospero Anio y Felicidad......
Though the world is now much more evil than the world during World War 2, you still miss those times...
