- It's been a minute since I've been able to get a spring Saturday off of bike shop duty so I can go ride bikes with the best cycling club in the whole wide world! Randonneuring is good for the soul and there's no better place than Driftless Wisconsin to experience the magic of long distance road cycing. I absolutely love these days. Aside from the wind, the weather was perfect! And the hills reminded us our legs serve a higher purpose indeed!

I love it that the bike of the professional bike mechanic is the only one without brifters and disc brakes of the whole bunch! And by far the best looking!👍😁
Yes indeed it is the best looking Bike!
Who's the professional mechanic 😜
@@PaulR-lk9ry I'd say Andy is pretty close...^^
I have a 45 year old classic with non aero levers. My everyday has disks and 9 speed brifters. 9 speed stuff is so cheap now, I've loaded up with spare everything.
The video felt like a chill movie
Dude. You do that entire ride one-handed? Whoa.
Love your channel.
Have you ever thought about RAGBRAI?
I’m a 10x rider and can tell you it will be the time of your life…. First year 627 miles in 7 days. It’s much shorter nowadays, 400-500. I’m in California and it’s a hall getting me and my gear there at the same time.
26:36 - Do you ever find yourself compelled to moo at the cows? I must. Always! lol
That's some beautiful countryside to ride in!
Moo at cows, honk at geese, and talk to the horses. Every ride, every time.
You should film more of these. Love these kind of vids. Was a little disappointed in the lack of classic Rando bikes though.
I’ve been too busy to ride but I finally found good help at the shop so 🚴🏼♂️💨
I rode 34 miles yesterday and that was enough!
I just had to find a way to say thank you so much. You told me that Trek was way over stocked with bikes so I went down to my local Trek dealer and bought a 2023 X Caliber 8 for half of the original price. It is my first 29er and a great 70th birthday present to myself.
Hello bike farmer, I'm in NJ and just got some mountain bikes for my family. I can't wait to go for some rides. I'm working on fixing my bicycle even though it is new. Enjoy watching your channel for bicycle maintenance and repair. Beautiful ride in the country. Thanks for all the info
Love biking around Madison. And to do it in May! Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Nice. Thanks for sharing! The tourist traffic here makes it way too dangerous to ride on pavement. The rolling coal folks are especially fun 🙄
So happy for you, one of the greater joys in life.
When I’m at work and can’t ride love watching yall
Nice roads and trails
I have shattered my acl joints in shoulder n knee. My bike days are over.
awesome vid . Wisconsin has some really nice bike riding. Wisconsin is such a beautiful state. i have gotten the rail tril guide books on wisconsin. Now just got to get there!! Thanks for sharing this awesome video.
Great job on the vid production. Definitely a most beautiful area and ideal for road cycling. Have enjoyed a number of vintage road bike events in that region. Climbs are just long enough and awesome fun, roller coaster rewarding. There's areas that reminded me of Belgium Netherlands and yet the driftless region has way better surface condition.
Looks fantastic. Curious about a map of the route and your elevation gain. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Totally should’ve put that in there…130 miles. 6500 ft of climbing
Love this content🚲
I hope to make much more!
What a beautiful ride and video. Nice countryside for cycling, even the car driver seem to stay on distance. Thank you!
Great Spring ride Andy (vitual for me in KTx). I miss those Sping days in Wis...the green replaced the brown of winter...
Cheers, C
Especially good one! Love the Driftless in all ways. It’d be nice to see a route map for rides like this. Thanks, BikeFarmer.
Watching it for the 3rd time. It's so nice. I hope one day I'll be fit enough for at least a 100k ride
Last Sunday i rode 30 Miles with my Pashley Guvnor equipped with a whopping 3 Speed Sturmey Archer. It was a joy to ride.
Lovely country side, and a good effort getting around the 200km. Goodonya mate.
Lovely to see relatively empty roads - makes such a difference to cycling enjoyment.
And there is also a Taliesin, near Aberystwyth in Mid Wales.......
Hell yeah hope you enjoyed sir
Looks like a great spring ride! Thanks for the video ✔️🚴
Such a fun way to spend the day.
Beautiful.
I really enjoy these rando vids; they get me in the mood to ride. Nice Norsk style bike shelter in Mt. Horeb. Thanks.
That is a beautiful part of the state. Love riding motorcycle there. Frank Lloyd Wright architecture is awesome.
Amazing bike trails
First part of the ride looks familiar with Terry, Paul, Steve and I. Nice video!
You should do a ride by the numbers distance, time, elevation. Awesome ride, thanks for the video!
Great ride dude 😊 you have such beautiful scenery, weather, roads and landscape wow I wish I was there one day maybe ❤😊 from Pete UK 🚴🏻👍
Good times man!!
You inspire.
Cool! Cool! Cool!
Hi BF, I love the music on this one😊
Did the 200K from Delavan through Sun Prairie and back a few years ago........in April with less than 100K in total training. Slept well that night.
Outstanding video. Beautiful country, amazing roads and trails. Incomparable scenery.
I'm in So Oregon and we have spectacular roads,, but.. the auto traffic is a serious issue.
Too much of it and too many disrespectful (rural) marijuana growers.
I watch another tuber called salty beard for his touring. How about talk us through building a tour bike like yours, ideas on vintage steel frames and mechanics , gear and organizations.
Great video. What city is KT #525 located in?
This REALLY makes me miss the Driftless...
I mean, it even makes me miss Kwik Trip...
Love the frame bag! What brand is that?
Actually, Taliesin West is in Scottsdale, Arizona, about three miles from my winter home. Great video! Thanks for sharing.
What kind of tires do you prefer for rides like this? Something a bit wider than a road race tire, maybe with a little puncture protection?
Great stuff. Is the route available on strava or ride with gps?
Hi! Do you know the name of your glasses frame? Looks like ray-ban 3025 but i am not sure
You had a pre-panned rout. So if you did this, but had no rout and no plan, and did not even know where you were going, would you be participating in Randomneuring?
I figured that you'd have to average around 14 mph in order to go 200 km in 10 hours - assuming 1 hour of breaks total. Does that sound about right?
I did my 230km ride with 21kmph average around 996m of elevation and 10 hours 42 min of riding I took more time too busy swiming on the destination 😂 that drained my energy badly and after entering the city the traffic just killed the average speed 😢 i have a hybrid 🙃
Why should I ride 200k? 🤔
Its just you and your bike feels like a loooooooooooong meditation
you don‘t wake up and think ‚let‘s hop on a bike and ride 200k!‘. It grows. You are managing a small amount of k and then the desire comes to bike more. One time one wants to do the 200, or 300 or 600.
First!
Sorry, 200k of what?
Why must we give long rides French names? Why can't we call them "Long-ass rides where we spend too much money on a bicycle just so that we can sleep in a ditch until a farmer bitches us out for 'being on his property' "
This form of long organized, but not competitive, riding originated in France and the governing body is in France. Why not use the shorter French name everyone else does?
Farmer probably only did 20 miles and claimed it was 120. Editing changes everything
Rode your mom for 20 miles but her edits made it look like 2min on her OF vid
@@bkefrmr tsk tsk tsk..
You may be a professional bike mechanic but a rank amateur when it comes to a retort.
@@Wesoldoursoulsforutubeadrevenu I’d argue the opposite. That was a killer retort 🤓
@bkefrmr agreed hilarious retort 😂
I’m guessing this guy shops at a cycling store
