Thanks for posting this! I was on the East Coast and missed being switched to the end of this when Syracuse/Georgetown went into overtime. I remember seeing 94-92 and then 95-94 and yelling "Glenn Robinson hit a 3!" I found later I was wrong but I didn't mind. Seeing the whole clip was worth the decade-plus wait.
Awesome video. I remember watching this when I was 14. I was playing a middle school basketball game and someone's dad had brought one of those portable TV's that you could carry. Anyway, we all stopped in the middle of our warmups to watch Big Dog make that running jumper at the end and half the team exploded while the other half sulked (there were a lot of IU fans at my middle school. Anyway, thanks for posting it. I still have my gold #13 jersey.
Purdue is a great school for engineering and the campus is all in walking distance. The people are nice, and the atmosphere is great. The campus is divided from the main city by the Wabash river, so the campus is very centralized. Unlike Michigan, for example, where you probably have to take a bus to your next class. Purdue's great.
What a sad pathetic loser you are. Obviously people walk to class at Michigan--I did. How sad and pitiable it is that you feel the need to try to criticize some university to feel better about yourself. What a sad little pencilneck you are.
It's cool seeing and pressing (or shifting) the "fast forward" option. Algorithm brought me to 1994 NCAA, and now made sense why Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson was the eventual top pick of 1994 NBA Draft. And yet, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill (second and third) had longer careers. Then and now, choosing players from college, HS, or international can be volatile. With all the hype and flair, it is a shame the "Fab 5" then "Fab 4" is unable to get the job done. When pressure mounting and the game is on the line they falter, an indication they rely on talent more than team fundamentals.
The Fab Five always self-destructed in the biggest moments. Happened all three years (technically a FAB four without Webber in 93-94) in the Big Ten and the NCAA tournament.
Actually, dipshit, they won two regional titles in the tournament...our record was better than Purdue's during that time. Purdue didn't win anything during that time. It's amazing how stupid you are. Here's a video in which we beat your doiliemakers. I can't wait for you to claim this is Fake News. th-cam.com/video/LfUG2aJrwds/w-d-xo.html
Quit hating on Purdue. Yes, Michigan's a better school and has a better sports program (when they don't get caught cheating at least), but this particular day my Boilers gutted out a win despite being outmanned.
Watch this again... and tell me was King shaving points??? look at his play in the last minute... Throws up a three with a minute left, when they could have run down the play clock... fouls Robinson and doesn't even attempt to not let him get the shot off... then "misplays" the pass from Rose at mid-court letting purdue take the lead...
blackspokane 4 same altho that pass by jalen was pretty bad, no? Perhaps more than one in on it? Wonder if they were trying to win but under the spread and it went south with an L.
EPIC KEADY RANT!!!! Looking for an epic presser by Keady during MARCH MADNESS 1990-93???? The officials totally fucked Purdue and Keady went OFFFF at the press conference after the game!! Musta rewound it 50 times to see the eggs and bacon fry on his forehead while he shot fiery arrows from his eyes!!!! Became a Purdue BB fan after that as I laughed and rewound that rant over and over!! HE kept repeating..."IT GETS OLD!!" "YOU GRADUATE ALL TOUR KIDS AND THEY WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF TO GET A CHANCE AND THE REFS STEAL IT AWAY FROM THESE KIDS... AND IT GETS OLD!!" CLASSIC RANT!! Anyone got that??
That was the loss to Texas in the second round of the 1990 NCAA tournament in which Purdue's shot with about 2 or 3 seconds remaining to win the game was blocked. Keady wanted goaltending, but it was a good block (no goaltending and no foul). The video of that play (not the rant) is available on YT. Had he had a crystal ball, he should have saved that rant against a good call in the 1990 tournament loss for the 1995 NCAA tournament, when Purdue lost on a last second shot off of an offensive rebound against Memphis in the second round, when the Memphis player grabs and pulls the jersey of the Purdue player in position to get the rebound preventing him from doing so. That is available on YT as well.
Haha Michigan choked again. I hated the Fab 5. I don't mind the Michigan teams playing now a days I actually rooted for them to win it all last year. But hated those arrogant punks. I wish basketball would be like football and give each team 3 timeouts a half if you don't use them you lose them. There is to many game stoppages in NCAA basketball. Every 4 minutes tv timeouts amd what I really hate it if coach calls T.O. With 16:05 left in half then 6 sec. Later on dead ball they have to do tv timeout. Heck if it's within 30 sec. Of scheduled TV timeout just cancel it. It drags games out to long. Plus it confuses players like Webber thinking they got another T.O. at end of the game.
What a memory! Robinson may have been the best college player EVER that year. Unstoppable.
Man what a great upload, Matt Waddell, Big Dog actually trying, the VCR fast-forwarding. Thanks!
during the 1993-94 season, glenn robinson was the best player in big ten history.
Scott skiles
Waddell who hit 2 3's is my dad
Waddell's Page
One of the unsung heroes of that time, fun to watch
Epic
Tiptons finest!
And… Now… 8 years later… YOU’RE playing for our Boilermakers!
That Glen Robinson was a beast at Purdue
tom11zz884 true: but grant hill handled him
@@iggypopisgod9 Glenn was injured from the previous game.
Purdue was so fun to watch that year. And I was (am) an IU fan!

Yeah, Waddell was a player . Whole team was. And I went to the tourney games that year. What a team!

1.) Big Dog was the most complete player in Big Ten history.
2.) Purdue needs to bring back those UNI'S!!!!
Remember watching this game with my dad. Aweseome!
Glenn Robinson, Fab 4. Moral of the story- early-mid 1990s Big 10 basketball was STACKED with starpower.
true story..... Calbert Chaney at Indiana.. Jim Jackson at Ohio St. Many more
80s big east was even better
hof mullen, ewing, ...Ralph Sampson

what a choke job by Michigan. Shooting 2 3's when not needed and then throwing the ball away. Great comeback by Purdue....
The Fab Five always self-destructed in the biggest moments.
Happened all three years (technically a FAB four without Webber in 93-94) in the Big Ten and the NCAA tournament.
Glenn Robinson is the best college player I've ever seen, my dad says Bird was better, but give the big dog my vote I'm 46 been a purdue fan for yrs
big dogg was THE MAN when playing NCAA
Anybody have Herb Dove's dunk vs Alabama in the tourney when the guy that tried to block it got hurt?????
My uncle was a beast and overlooked because of robinson
Go Boilers! Thanks for posting.
Purdue is in West Lafayette - which is a separate city from Lafayette - not the main city. Not sure what you're talking about here.
Wow, nice blast from the past. Hail Purdue!
The fab five never won a thing. The big dog and Purdue made sure of that! I remember they were talking shit to Glenn.
+Andy Harvey The Fab Five made two final fours...how is that nothing? Purdue hasn't made a final four in 35 years.
It's all good. Purdue beat Michigan today.

@@Tigersfan829 Uhm, because nobody "wins" when you get to the FF. Now the Championship game is another story.
@@typeviic1 Yes you do...you win the region of the tournament...thats why you get a trophy and banner for it.
Did he step out at :20?
Mang, that was too intense too watch.
Matt Waddell is my daddy :)
Still hard to watch 25 years later....
Yes. That's him on the sidelines and running off the court after the win.
Quit hating on Purdue. Yes, Michigan's a better school and has a better sports program (when they don't get caught cheating at least), but this particular day my Boilers gutted out a win despite being outmanned.
Who's hating on Purdue? This thread is nothing but hayseeds shitting on Michigan and showing their inferiority complexes.
epwheele... i was thinking the same thing when i first watched it... some of the plays jimmy king made were very very questionable...
King air balls and jalen throws the ball to no one? 🤔
The flop five does it again!
BOILER UP!!!
Michigan got out coached is what that is.

SAWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
@MrGelhs204 No shit. I've been thinking the same thing. They've replayed a lot of games from this Purdue team but not this one? In time I guess.
@Bennifer91 Approximately, but not absolutely...
Foul, And one!
awesome game! Remember the end well, as Purdue literally stole this game away from the Fab Fellons!
Spelled "felon" wrong--obviously a Purdue grad.
Another Fraud 5 choke!!!
