I tried to hunt with a FFP optic, It was brutal, i had a opportunity to shoot a big buck at like 60 yards right at shooting light and I couldn't find the reticle, even with illumination. I didn't do my research. SFP is best for hunting.
Remember that Second Focal Plane scopes do indeed change point of impact depending on magnification. How much it changes is debatable. First Focal Planes do not change POI with magnification. You have it reversed. But SFP scope reticles stay the same size no matter the magnification.
That’s a good point and something that’s been driving me crazy the last few weeks. I’m getting inversed performance than the FFP = no poi shift rule. Most of my FFP scopes have more poi shift than my SFP optics, regardless of how much they cost. Sure it’s minimal on all fronts, but definitely noticeable. I might make a video just testing it across 5 or 6 of each. Great comment!
SFP scopes still have the same center crosshair point of impact regardless of zoom. Everything else on the reticle shifts like dots or rangefinding stadia, but that center crosshair will still be consistent. Remember that SFP mildots are only calibrated at a given zoom setting, usually maximum magnification. FFP mildots are good throughout the zoom range, but the reticle will also be massive at maximum magnification, potentially obscuring the target or parts of the target.
what is the elevation range on this scope. It is hard to get accurate information on that. I see in some models it is 100, but I've also seen 40 moa elevation max. I am concerned because I thought it was 100 when I purchased it and I am waiting on it now, if it is 40 or 50, then it will be useless to me!
Yeah, it’s not ideal for most experienced shooters. For me it’s pretty useful because I’m currently trying to move my holds to mil dot but like having the turrets in Moa.
What would you say yardage wise this is effective too? Been on the fence of a 5x26 vortex venom or this 5x20 just not sure how effective at long range thank you
It really all depends on your caliber and skill set. For example, we took this rifle elk hunting a few months back and it was fine for the ranges we were hunting. But we also had a 300 win with higher magnification in case we had to really reach out. We built another 300 win setup a few weeks ago. And went with a higher magnification because of the caliber and the use case: 500 yards + only. If you can afford more magnification, get it. Might as well. Better to have it and not need it than have to buy a new scope because you didn’t get enough mag the first time 👍
I just got this scope on a Bergara BMP .308 👍
It’s a great optic.

We agree. FFP is indeed brutal.

Nice scope, but Mil dot with MOA turrets? Cmonnnnn!!! That is such a bummer to see on nice scope, especially a $1,000 scope.

I miss the old AccuPoint the credo seems to be going backwards?🤯🔫🃏
Surprised it ddnt come in a hard case like the acog
Yeah I was secretly hoping it would lol

I never did see the reticle lighted.
What height rings did you use ?
This is a HMR PRO right?
Yes
Definitely don’t like that reticle. Reminds me of the Nikon BDC reticle 10 years ago.
Trijicon should know better, it's either MOA or Mil, not a combo it is a downfall
for this scope ..............................
After the level and all that bubble talk it’s still crooked lol
Gun is crooked in the shots because the bipod swivels. Crosshair is perfectly straight.
@@UnprofessionalOutdoors ... I dont know... lol I took that into account. I went off of pic rail to crosshair ... crooked BUT if you're good with it!!
Ha! It does look crooked as hell in the video. Just rewatched it. Not sure why. It’s perfectly level.
@@UnprofessionalOutdoors probably my monitor :D
I have the 2.5-10x56 accupoint and a 2.5-15 credo
