- This is part 5 in a series dedicated to capturing the Commonwealth Engineering Express Passenger Train - the Comeng XPT.
Starting with an ST23 service passing through the Coles Lane level crossing in Yarra, NSW with the service’s consist lead by XP2017, and power car XP2000 pushing from behind.
Then, watch multiple XPT services pass through Redfern, Burwood, as well as arriving and departing from Sydney Terminal.
Turn your sound up and listen to the mighty Paxman VP185 12-cylinder diesels and other associated sounds from the train. Particular attention has been made to capture the audio in best quality possible for the full audio-visual experience.
This video is dedicated to all the staff - past and present - who have made and will make the running of this train service possible and an experience of a life time.

The old XPT rollingstock (especially the locos at each end) are certainly looking weather beaten and tied since their CountryLink refurbs, 10+ years ago.

Great work by you & Ava....excellent video as always. There is something special about seeing the XPTs arrive at & leave Sydney Terminal. Best bits for me are 5:50, 6:26, 12:13 & 18:19 but it's all great. 🙂

Nice video but a shame that you cut this one view short; I would have preferred to see the XPT climb and then drop over the hill until out of view 0:49
