8 years in Calgary and counting. It's a cold city in winter, but very sunny. The main advantage is the dry weather. You can get used to dry cold sunny winters better than cold cloudy humid winters. In February it can be -30ºC for a week.
@@DrBuren I lived in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in the past. Just be aware that you will sacrifice excitement and nigh life for high quality of life, great outdoors and affordability here in Calgary. If you are ok with that,Calgary is an excellent option.
@@MarioSeoane thanks for your suggestions. Yeah, I think I am looking for affordability, a smaller place close to nature and where I can raise a family.
@@MarioSeoane yes, I am currently living in Toronto. I lived in Vancouver for 5 years before moving to Toronto about 3 years ago. So I kind of missed affordability and a smaller place with larger space for cheaper price. My only worry is whether I can find a satisfying jobs there in Calgary.
Calgary is the only major affordable city for current and future generations Canadians and Immigrants. I am seeing many of my friends and family moving to Calgary who work from home. This trend will continue to grow. None can live on expensive rents in Ontario or BC. Calgary also has growing tech and film industry
we have gone thru this elimination process as well, touring from coast to coast. I think you are heading in the right direction, Calgary scores well on many metrics.
@@DrBuren we just went on an exploratory tour around Calgary , we are primarily interested in the west quadrant of the city, west of sarcee trail. The neighbourhoods there are quite conservative and with good schools and of course low crime.
Thanks for your comment. That is a good argument. However, avoiding possible risk is necessary for us. For example, we won’t live in area where there’s a higher possibility of war outbreak, the same is true for possible natural disasters. 😁😁😁
@@indo_cad8877 yeah, I am not very sure if I would be able to find a good job there. The average housing there is as expensive as it is in Calgary anyway. So perhaps inside or just surrounding Calgary is a better choice. Why that town is growing so fast, do you know?
Thanks for your comment. I think the current Calgary job situation is ok, not great, but ok. Of course, as the pandemic ends things will be better. It also depends on industries and job types. What industry are you looking at? Also, lithium in Calgary is something interesting.
