    The Nikon Z 14-30mm F4 in combo with the Nikon Z 24-120mm F4 has been awesome for my landscape photography. Kit weighs next to nothing on long hikes and very happy with image quality 🤙📸

    The results you are getting are pretty amazing, so your recommendations of the lens are well founded. I think I need to watch it again just to take in all the beautiful shots!

    Hi Adrian, thanks for your great review. I have also been using the 14-30mm for about a year and it quickly became my most used lens. Interestingly still I use my f mount 20mm f1.8 in combination with the 14-30mm.

    Hi Adrian, a great video, buddy! I have to say, this range is very, very interesting for me. Especially, because it allows to use filters without special adapters. Unfortunately, Sony doesn't offer something like that. I have my 12-24mm f2.8, which is a good lens though, but filters just work with a special adapter. Kase offers one, which is great and I'm really grateful about. But a 14-30mm range is just such a great idea instead of a 16-35mm :)
    Enjoy your weekend,
    Christian

      Hi Christian - thanks for watching. That Sony 12-24mm F2.8 is pretty awesome, but yes filters wise it can get a little tricky. I think Sony have that 14mm F1.8 prime lens which I'd love to have a go at doing astro. We are spoilt for choice nowadays for gear. Have a great weekend, cheers 📸🙏

    Concordo pienamente, l'accoppiata z 14-30 e z20mm 1,8 sono tra i migliori obbiettivi grandangolari della seri Nikon Z

    If Nikon was still my main system, I would certainly buy that lens. I'm pretty happy with the Canon version, 14-35 f/4 L IS USM. Thanks for the video, Adrian! There were many great photos to enjoy!

    Great summary on why this lens is definitely one of the best ultra-wide angle zoom lenses for Nikon.loved your compilation of stills & footage. I can’t believe the size of the filter thread on the faster zoom lens 😀. Thanks for sharing & enjoy those pizzas!😀😀

    Hi Adrian,
    So glad this was my second lens, after buying the Z6ii / 24-70 f4 kit!
    I appreciate your comparison to the other two Z lenses.
    As a novice to ND filters I have a question regarding the ND filters you are using on some of your beautiful sample pictures.
    I noticed you took a few of them mixing an ND filter with an f8 aperture.
    When possible, would you recommend using a lower aperture (eg f14) and no ND filter, or is there a reason to keep the ND filter on with a wider f?
    Cheers from Paris 🎉

    Excellent Review Adrian, when I finally break down and purchase a Z camera, this lens maybe my either first or second lens. if this one is not the first the other choice would be 24-120. What do you think?

    • @adrianalfordphotography
      @adrianalfordphotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Leo. How many Z8’s are you ordering 😂 Be interesting to see the final price Wednesday. As an “all rounder” lens you’d probably be better getting the 24-120 to begin with - you’ll probably get that cheaper too as a bundle/kit lens with whatever Z camera you end up with. The 14-30mm is more of landscape/architecture type lens that excels in those genres. Hope you have a great weekend cheers 🍻 🙏📸

    • @leod1671
      @leod1671 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adrianalfordphotography Ah the Z8, very interesting camera. if the price is where some people are saying it will be, I am not sure that it will make me go mirrorless. Plus, it maybe larger than the Z7/Z6. Plus, my D850 should still hold it's own, at least image wise. honestly, for me maybe a Z6iii (yes 3) with a slightly larger sensor and better focusing capability might be the ticket???? Anyway, should be an interesting week. Hopefully Nikon Australia lets you try one out. I would love to hear your opinion of it.

    Good morning, I pay close attention to reviews from important photographers. This lens reflects my way of photographing, especially if I have to use particular filters for evening shots of panoramas and architecture. I wanted to know from you, if I may, what substantial differences have you found between this lens and the z 14-24 f2.8 s? Is it worth saving $1000 for lighter weight and more light? or is it better to spend more and get the same result? Thank you for any response. Kind regards and happy new year.

    • @adrianalfordphotography

      Thanks for watching. Can I ask are you wanting a lens for professional or enthusiast photography? In other words for paid clients or just for facebook or instagram?

    • @natalepaglionico7654
      @natalepaglionico7654 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mainly shoot evening street photography with fixed lenses or the 24-70 f2.8 all at an amateur level, I don't publish many photos on social media, but I would use the wide angle lens mainly for evening sunsets and the architecture of historic buildings. however amateur. Maybe in the future I could transform my passion into work, but in the future.@@adrianalfordphotography

    • @adrianalfordphotography
      @adrianalfordphotography  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@natalepaglionico7654 ok cool. You’ll find the 14-24 2.8 better in low light handheld and image wise, it will be slightly better. $1000 more better than the 14-30… well, that’s arguable to this day amongst photographers. The 14-30 F4 is a landscape photographer’s dream lens for its compact size and weight, plus very good image quality and can take 82mm filters. Filters for the 2.8 cost a lot more. Tough decision, however (and I can’t say too much) I’ll be reviewing a lens in the next month or two, soon to be released which very well may just suit you and you’ll save a bundle of cash in the process. Stay tuned 🙏
