The man did say himself “picked myself up off the floor and found something new worth living for...an old dusty hand me down six string, and a couple chords”
Omg I thought he said … I picked myself up off the floor and found something new worth a living for… “an old dusty Hank and that 6 string and a couple cords” …. Wow thanks for the correction lol
I was going to quit playing... and walk away from the guitar. Thankfully I seen one of your videos... and now because of the way you teach (nothing against anyone else out there) I find myself not wanting to walk away from my guitar. Thank you and may you and your family stay blessed
8 month update: this video turned out a lot more useful than i expected! Late night fire pit vibes got taken to a new level. Biggest piece of advise I’d say would be to not stop practicing the basics. Everytime I’m bored I end up playing random combinations and turns out pretty decent. Goodluck guys
Hey man, I've been wanting to learn guitar for as long as I've been alive. Even with private tutelage I've never managed to surpass the first real page of any textbook. I picked up a guitar for the first time in probably a decade yesterday, and by today I'm already making something that resembles music. Between this and the Whiskey Glasses lesson you've helped a dream come a little closer to reality, thanks man.
Hey CountrySongTeamer, I just want to drop in and say thank you. I found your page when I first started learning guitar and thanks to you; i can play quite well now! Have a great weekend!
Trying to learn guitar. Thank you for helping me learn something that I enjoy to help boost my confidence. I'm now subscribed!! Thanks again for taking the time
Bro, I’ve just picked up a guitar not long ago and I wanna learn everything country. Morgan wallen is getting there and I came across this vid and I’m amazed! In about 15-20 mins I’ve learnt the chords and strumming pattern, then you said to do just downward strums and I’ve got even better with the singing. You are so simple to understand and learn to, much love from across the pond 🤠🏴
This video was honestly such a great help. I've been struggling to learn guitar and I really wanted to learn some Luke Combs songs. Was trying to learn Even Though I'm Leaving (from another of your tutorial videos) but I always struggled with strumming and rhythm. But this video made finding the rhythm much easier to grasp so Thank you
Thanks for the video Matt, and yep, that’s the guitar I asked about! Have really watched a lot of Luke Combs lately, just pure God given talent! Thanks again my brother!
hey man I just wanted to let you know that your amazing I've always wanted to play guitar and be happy with results I appreciate you keep up the good work buddy
Hey Matt, what is your favorite capo? I’m looking to get a new one and after watching so many of your terrific videos I would highly respect your opinion! Thank you
I just looked up the price of your moms guitar...a few different prices the average was around 500.00....beautiful guitar, great music, and another awesome video....thank you for sharing your talent and time with all of us who appreciate great country music...
Like your videos I have just started on the guitar and your videos has helped a lot. I just have on request can you teach Jason Alden Night Train been wanting to learn that song. Thanks
Thanks a lot for your videos! I’m a beginner and you are helping loads. Question: At 1:35 how do you get that little „beat“ sound? Do you hit the guitar with your finger or the strings differently?
Hey man! I WOULD LOVE A SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF “WITHOUT YOU” by Keith Urban! Pleaseee! It would be so awesome to learn for the girl I like and sing it to her! Keep up the great work friend!
I noticed that Hurricane, She Got the Best of Me, and Must've Never Met you were basically copy paste the same songs, just in different keys pretty early on. Even the verse progression and bridges are nearly identical. Pretty crazy considering they are all on his debut album. Great songs, but yeah, pretty much copy paste the same song lol. You can literally do a mash up and sing lyrics for the other songs over those songs.
Love the videos, your lessons have helped me find my love of guitar again. Could you please do a lesson on eric ethridge- If you met me first. Thank you again!
How do you know if it has 2 count 4 count in a song when your looking at chords, I watch you and when I do it I’m missing something, what’s your thoughts on this?

Discovering these videos is making me want to learn guitar again and I'm all for it. Thanks so much!
It's well worth it man I'm telling you, it's changed my life forever
Me too mate!
Still listening to this every day trying to get these songs down. I don’t even like country music but Luke combs keeps it 100. Love you too Matt
Luke combs doesn’t keep it 100😂 good music but a sellout😂
Just started learning the guitar 2 weeks ago. Thanks for helping me add a few more songs to my list!! really appreciate it.

You are just making Luke Combs look even smarter for the fact he can write hit after hit with just 4 chords.
He’s a phenom!
@Rogue Yakuza yep that's very true, two more songs that are the exact same chords are I'm yours, Jason Maraz & Wagon wheel, Darius Rucker.
Well Luke Combs does mention he plays his song with just a few Cords in the song "She Got The Best of Me"
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Every major hit has been a 4 chord song. Literally all of them.
Big props to this guy taught me how to play the guitar in 4 cords

Thanks a lot for your videos! I’m a beginner and you are helping loads. Question: At 1:35 how do you get that little „beat“ sound? Do you hit the guitar with your finger or the strings differently?
let me look into this and I'll let you know! Thank you!
Sounds like he’s muting the strings with the meaty part of his strumming hand as he strums.
Not sure if I should thank you or Luke so I’ll just subscribe. 👌🏻
Haha love it!
This is super legit dude, thanks a lot.
For the e minor are you pressing down both 4th and 5th strings with your pointer finger?
no just the 5th
Yes, he presses the 4th and 5th. He explains it in a lot of his other videos
How do you put that little spice on the end before you start the chords over? sounds so good
Thank you sir
Nice Blue Ridge that Baby Hums like the Dickens
Hey man! I WOULD LOVE A SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF “WITHOUT YOU” by Keith Urban! Pleaseee! It would be so awesome to learn for the girl I like and sing it to her! Keep up the great work friend!
Todd Woodring I know I’m ten months late, but I’m wondering if this ever happened and if it worked?
Cool Dude unfortunate not :( or at least that I know of haha
Todd Woodring sorry bro. Times like those I tend to stop playing “Without You,” and start playing “She got the best of me”
I noticed that Hurricane, She Got the Best of Me, and Must've Never Met you were basically copy paste the same songs, just in different keys pretty early on. Even the verse progression and bridges are nearly identical. Pretty crazy considering they are all on his debut album. Great songs, but yeah, pretty much copy paste the same song lol. That's country music
Hey mate - what is the song you play at 5.30? A beautiful song... I think you sing that song best.
