You spoil us with consistency Matt! On the career mode - one thing I think a lot of people miss (because its not obvious) is that it throws random missions at you, but if you decline them, it "learns" and over time supplies you with missions you prefer. If you keep just taking certain missions, you will get more of those offered over time. For instance accepting Space Tourism missions will rapidly result in more. Letting them expire from the selection queue means over time less, but outright rejecting them more rapidly trains the system to not offer them to you. In effect, when doing a campaign, pick the ones you want, reject the ones you don't, and you will get missions you like. I found it helpful in my head cannon to outline what I wanted my Kerbal's space program arc to look like, then only accepted missions that were inline. Your rep takes a beating at first, but honestly, who cares, eventually you make it up and still come out ahead.
Dude! If this is how proficient you are at doing things in one take that's AWESOME. I wanna see more videos with this amount of editing, it feels very natural and more personal. I like it! Also career mode IS totally fun to watch!! You have to come up with creative solutions to unusual contracts :)
Hi! I am 12 years old and I got KSP 2 weeks ago. Your channel is the first time I got introduced to this game. Yesterday I managed to get a sattelite into orbit! Thank you for these great videos!
I tried to do something like this once, I was inspired by the anime Planetes, and built a rocket designed to look a bit like the ship in that anime, with a large central cargo bay. I sent it to orbit and used a claw inside the bay to capture a spent fuel tank that was threatening my space station, ideally before taking it home. I think I did eventually catch it, but I had a really tough time, it barely fit and flexed uncomfortably on the claw, glitching through the cargo bay during re-entry even without physics warp.
Hope your hand heals quickly, always love the KSP content it gives me ideas for my console playthrough (would use a PC but I'm a poor boi) editing spacecraft is sooooo much harder on console and it's less accurate but it works.
I'd love a Science Mode Console Series where you could show more creative ways to collect science, maybe visiting the Comet if she makes an appearance? Haha. Love the content, stay safe!
I think I was like 13 when I first played this game. I couldn't even figure out how to do a circular orbit. Now I'm 20yo and just started playing again. I have built a refueling station on the mun and minmus. I also have a massive space station halfway between kerban and the mun. Duna is next! Your videos are so helpful, and your enthusiasm just makes me want to play KSP even more. Thanks Matt.
I watched one of your videos a couple months ago, and now I can't stop playing KSP, one hour feels like one minute. Also, in the making of this comment I just became a member of the Lowne Squad!
For the wheel not working when placed on cargo bay - place it on cockpit and use the fine tuner to move it back - if you hold shift or alt, you can drag it further than the constraints of the grandfather part!
About the escape trajectory becoming an orbit, it probably hit Minmus or Mün’s SOI for a moment, and got a gravity assist, but not strong enough to create an impact with kerban. Actually happened to me on my first orbit mission.
career mode is my favourite mode and i play career only, the contracts are optional and there are some really fun contracts where you need to go to like 6 planets in 1 launch and theyre not that rare, or base building contracts, base expanding contracts...

I'm playing career mode in PC and the contracts are actually getting better. At first it had part tests, tourists and satellite launches, then some stations (in LKO or Kerbol orbit and in Mun and Minmus) and now as I get further into the other planets more good contracts pop up. For example I have to drill for ore in Duna and take it to Ike (or the other way), or take some reading on a specific place in Eve and so on.
