    70's chord voicings. Puts most modern music to shame.

    Love the song. I’ve liked Gino since May of 1974. Saw him in 76. Still a huge fan. He’s had so many great bands.
    This has to be his pinnacle song. I still actually hear this and literally do stop. And totally focus on it. If my memory is correct Ross wrote it for him. It is such a well crafted piece. Thank you for the tutorial. I’m not a musician but love to hear and see a song broke down like this. I hope I used the correct verbiage here. And thanks also for mentioning his great drummer. Man he was a beast on the skins. He passed away far to soon.

    Such a beautiful song for acoustic guitar. Lots of ballads are geared towards piano or the guitar chords are too uninterested or simplistic for guitar. Thanks for the spot-on tutorial.

    I love a lot of 70s music because I believe they wrote a lot on acoustic guitar, thats why those songs are so.....good, your playing alone testify to that🙏🙏🙏

    Hi Dave ! Great lesson, love this song and posted a video playing along with my bass.
    The Bbm7b5 sounds for me Bb7#11 (you just replace the 3d).

    • @DavesGuitarChannel
      @DavesGuitarChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bbm7b5 is just an Amaj7 with the bass playing Bb and not A as a walk down into the Amaj7. The notes are Bb Ab Db E. Since there is no 5, I wouldn't call the E a #11 but a b5. So you see its just a smooth walkdown of the bass since Bb Ab Db E is the same as Bb G# C# E and fall into A G# C# E. The way I play it, I see no reason to replace or drop the 3rd.

    Thanks Dave. This is the only song I really ever heard by GV way back when. Now I'm gonna have to learn it. Such a nice progression and even though it's hard to sing it well, you nailed the nicest sounding chord forms. I'm going to tune up and see if I can steal it! Minus the vocals of course. And yes that f#minor was mainstay of my formative years, back in the late 60s and early 70s. Thanks for posting another good one.
