@@GabeSweetMan Ever considered how one of The Three Bs managed to throw Sega under the bus because of a funny lawsuit man? Now THAT'S what lawfirms would call a scapegoat!
You know the game industry is fuck when the game with the biggest revenue at 2014 was a mid game made by a company that only came under the radar bcs of "volume over quality" and polemics (I'm talking about gta v)
It’s fun coming back to this comment section in chronological order to be reminded of all of the 3 Bs fuckups over the years. It’s like counting the rings on a tree…
To me, it's hilariously depressing. CEO bad guys of the 80's weep at night, knowing they could never match even a 10th of Bobby Kotick's absolute scum-fuckery.
To anyone coming back to this, Polygon did a great article about Ghosts' development. It wasn't that Blizzard's standards were too high, it was that they kept making the devs change the game in huge ways until it stopped resembling what the project had started as.
If there's something Warhammer 40K really needs, it's more games about factions that _aren't_ Space Marines. The big obstacle for that is Paul Marketing going up to a project lead and saying "why isn't it about Space Marines, tho?" Also, in retrospect, "Titan" was probably the project that eventually turned into Overwatch.
like reviving the sisters of battle instead of completely ignoring the army most likely to help them snag more female players, and not giving the game licence to every shitty mobile game maker
Here...the devs can have this for free. imagine a warhammer 40k game in the style of the latest Mad Max, but you are an Ork. Smash the other tribes and build a WAAGH!!
Every time I watch the Lord of the Rings Peter Jackson films, I have to watch them back to back because it flows like one big story where most other movies with sequels are complete on their own.
And now Blizzard's head chief legal officer departs amid multiple lawsuits and so has the exec producer of Overwatch, christ almighty Blizzard really fall hard out of all of the three b's
I really want a Warhammer game where you play as the Imperial Guard. They're the most underappreciated faction in the WH40K universe, if you ask me. They're a bunch of normal humans who regularly fight reality-raping daemons, Lovecraftian horrors from another galaxy, unfathomably advanced robots, and rampaging green hulk-beasts with nothing but lasguns and big brass balls. Oh, and baneblades.
It has now been 9 months. PROGRESS REPORT BioWare: still alive and after officially killing off Anthem support, have promised that their next DA game won’t be a live service mess Bethesda: Itself and all of its other IP and studios are now bought out and owned by Microsoft Activision Blizzard: still the same usual garbage, mainly killing off Vicarious visions (the dudes behind the revitalizing remakes of Crash Bandicoot and the Tony Hawk games) In order to support Blizzards projects which are still nonexistent until maybe 2022
I'm glad that not only they know warhammer they have played the turd that is FW and the lost potential that was SM. The chances of a full LP of spess mahreen
BioWare: on the verge of being Deleted by EA after the failure of Anthem and Andromeda and they couldn’t even promise that the next Dragon age will not be garbage filled with online and micro transactions Bethesda: constant humiliation from Fallout 76 and embarrassed by the makers of Fall out new Vegas coming out with Outer Worlds and it’s beloved Blizzard: WHERE DO YOU EVEN BEGIN??? Starcraft: dead Hearthstone: spinning the tires and just being the Magic Rip off it is. Oh and siding with China to censor players and protestors against humanity rights violations Overwatch: they’re patching in a sequel of a shooter they’ve gone nowhere for 4 years and was easily overshadowed years later by Fortnite. Warcraft: BFA was garbage and the butchered the Remake of a beloved game like WC3 Diablo: Don’t you people have phones? It’s just endless for Activision blizzard
Let us think about this in retrospect. Blizzard were such hardline perfectionists that they repeatedly shotgunned Ghosts, which had so much potential. But now they expect us to be happy and excited for what is very clearly a reskinned Diablo clone that shows very little effort while they essentially quote EA style defenses of mobile gaming to justify this ‘bold new direction’ to a community that’s primarily PC oriented. What the hell was Blizzard thinking? What did they think was going to happen?
I suppose, but still. Saying Tolkien was 100% original is giving him a bit to much credit. Not saying he's not brilliant, just not the perfect god of writing they make him out to be.
There is a big difference between using real world myths and ripping off your fellow writers. The first was the basis for almost all ancient art, the Renaissance, Romantism and the beginnings of the fantasy genre. The second is responsible for a bunch of samey, bland-looking media.
I'm not saying the guy wasn't creative, or that it would be feasible for him to write something wholly original. All I'm saying is thatclaiming he was wholly original, which is effectively what they said, is incorrect.
Make it 4 B's; add Bungie into this, and sadly it could still be relevant to the conversation here; *"hopeful"* _with many conditionals_ by the time *O n e G a i* made that _unintentional_ *punchline* to Liam.
They can fail, but only when they're told to make a game in barely a year. They're not miracle workers. When they're given the time and proper direction, they can make great things.
Happy Ten Years of the Three B's Joke
Diablo 3 mobile, Anthem and Fallout 76.
What a way to go.
And it was just the begining
And now we add Warcaft 3 Reforget to the mix, and you'd better fuckin bet ill be back to add more !
This only gets funnier with time
Funnier and funnier...

The 3 B's bit ages like fine wine
Can you imagine, the 3 Bs has been said to Liam 11 years ago and it was still too late in.
You know the game industry is fuck when the game with the biggest revenue at 2014 was a mid game made by a company that only came under the radar bcs of "volume over quality" and polemics (I'm talking about gta v)
IT ONLY GETS FUNNIER AND FUNNIER!
This clip is the digital equivalent of a fine wine. Fuck I don't even think wine's as fine as this.
Posting this on the week of the Activision-Blizzard Lawsuit and the day of the walk out and it's never been funnier.
It actually just keeps getting funnier
nice to come back to this, see you guys next time!
hello again!

"Bethesda, we just wanted co-op" A statement that's only become more relevant over time.
Man... if ever there was a year to look back and remember the Three Bs.
Right? They are so far off the path nowadays they can't even see it anymore.
Its crazy how this is such evergreen content
I'm back here after hearing about the Blizzard WalkOut, this clip just keeps aging, huh.......
Im here after listening about another blizzard walkout
God it's hilarious hearing them wondering what Titan is given the current state of Overwatch 2.
It's even funnier now. Every single year, the Three B's gets funnier.
How does this keep getting funnier as time progresses.
Oh god it’s relevant again
Ahhhh it's good to come back to this yet again

Hearing this is weird because of Titan and Blizzard and stuff. Cut to today and we got Pat buying Loot Boxes on Overwatch with his soul.
I believe this was 2014, so they wouldve never known, but i do agree with you on how strange this is
As weird as their Mighty No. 9 hype was back then, or them talking about 'Project Beast'.
Señor Snout I mean, every Megaman fan was behind Mighty's back until people started to get hands on.
And now, 5 years later, it's even worse.

Tolkien totally ripped off a ton of people, in that middle earth rips off of a ton of different European myths
I suppose, but still. Saying Tolkien was 100% original is giving him a bit to much credit.

There is a big difference between using real world myths and ripping off your fellow writers. The first was the basis for almost all ancient art, the Renaissance, Romantism and the beginnings of the fantasy genre. The second is responsible for a bunch of samey, bland-looking media.
At this point, what myths are there for us to write about? What story, in 2016, has NOT been told a thousand times over?
