I've been been freezing citrus for years I have not had a problem zesting, you must zest as soon as you pull citrus out of the freezer before it thaws.
I just discovered the lemon hack. I looked it up on line and cut mine in wedges and put on tray to freeze individually, then put them in a large baggie and take one out at a time. Works great. Also I have been freezing my spring mix salads from the large boxes when I know I won't get to the last of it before going bad. I use the frozen lettuces in my smoothies. Works great and tastes great too. Will start doing that with bulk cooked rice, soups and hummus too. Thanks Tami
Hi Tami, I think it was on your last video with Souper Cubes that you mentioned roasting a bag of peeled garlic from Costco & then freezing it in their small trays. ??? Curious about how you roasted the garlic, since I'd been thinking about doing the same. Thanks.
@@NutmegNotebook Oh...I'm sorry I didn't know you both had covid! I have been so busy lately...husband in ER twice, now I have medical stuff too and just haven't been on here as much as I would like. Get well soon.
@@YeshuaKingMessiah I remember Tami saying that when following the I.P. directions it came out mushier than the way Tom does it. I don't like mushy rice. Thank you though.
I use the stasher bags with my ½ cup zero cubes. I have a tiny freezer and wouldn't be able to store anything in gallon bags anyway. I love it. I store my rice and other grains that way. It can hold 2 ½ cup portions sideways or if you turn them, you can put 4 in each so that the stasher holds 2 whole cups. I would be interested to know if the stasher holds the block from the 2 cup super cube? Tami, have you tried that individually?
Painters tape works well for labeling too...no sticky mess to clean when removing. I just use the yellow tape and a sharpie.
Thanks for the tips! Just order the souper cubes. Thank you for doing some shorter videos with quick tips because it’s easier to find time to watch

Tami, I either missed hearing it from you some other time or forgot (likely the case with me 🤪) about being able to freeze whole citrus. Great tip!
It’s handy when you don’t have time to juice the citrus!

Could Tom show us how he makes his brown rice in the I.P. so it isn't mushy? Thanks
As soon as we fully recover from Covid he’ll make a video!!

Such a great tip about freezing whole citrus!!
Have you found any reusable silicone bags that work well with the Souper Cubes?

Hummus doesn't freeze well, I've tried a million times and a million ways. It turns grainy and weird.
I find it freezes well. I freeze it all the time.
