Mr. Dugan, thanks a lot for playing such great music while demoeing old guitars from USSR! I have the same Aelita model hanging on my garage wall - your playing is really inspirational! Greetings from Russia!
Great sound. Love the cleans, esp. at 1:30 . . . What a great personality this guitar has. Fender is charging 5000 dollars for new guitars they rub with sandpaper and grease, but I can't say I've heard any of the "relic" jobbers that sound better than this one does.
I'm new to this channel, but I am quite in love with it already. The gear you demo is just so unique, and the way you show it off is superb. Good job, man.
You're F 'n great !! You love to play, and you sound so soulfully groovin' on everything you play. Thanks, always a pleasure to listen to a guitar hero. I have been playing guitar for 40 years, and listening to you puts a big smile on my face , and I kinda chuckle at what off the wall rock tunes you come up with. Oh, and the sound quality and balance between your guitar and the back round band is spot on, this is a huge plus when listening to anyone. Thanks again. Looking forward to finding more of your videos, and the expressions on your face when you hit that note just right, PRICELESS !
Dear Robert, your feedback has moved me deeply. You have successfully summarized what I have dedicated my life's work to. Unfortunately things never turned out the way I had hoped, but at least I am alive and healthy enough to still keep doing it; and real peeps like you make it so rewarding and PRICELESS. Thank you.
OMG I had the same guitar! Mine had yellow sparkling pickguard (made of highly flammable plastic), i bought it in 1999 approximately for $20 (525 russian rubles), it was in pretty good condition but the wirings were just a bloody mess and yeah, this guitar works as a radio receiver sometimes (i wonder if it may work in the opposite way). Some frets were offset, the truss rod was rusty and didn't work, it had a lot of works to do to make the guitar playable and eventually i got rid of my Aelita. This video brought me some bright memories from my past and i wanna say to you: thanks a lot Man, you play the Aelita in awesome way, i've been sincerely amazed by your playing, i never thought it before that this guitar may sound like that. Thank you! P.S.: i know what your face was alike when you had tried to use the Aelita's tremolo for the first time:P
Isnt that mainly due to the amp he uses? i have option to buy a Aeita guitar for 100 bucks, still unsure which model it is, your story makes me a bit hesitant
Hey Mike, I'm listening to you again, and yep , you put a smile on my face again ! You are my favorite you tube artist. Thanks for all you do. I have one of these! Of this color specifically, there were about 5500 made from 1975-1981 I believe. The tremolo hardware in general is absolutely terrifying. The whole piece that keeps the tremolo in place genuinely looks like a knife blade balanced on a small notch. One bend too far and the guy in the front row is going down like Goliath. They did make tremolo bars for them but you could just press on it.
