FE's had a very distinctive idle sound. Kind of metalic in nature. I love the old FE's. I just wish they had made untill the 80's fuel injections systems.
I'm 71 and I'm a Chevrolet man, But above all I am a gear head And if you don't like the sound and the look of that Mustang you should be Ashamed.⚙️⚙️⚙️🚀🚀🚀
Ok, takes alot for me to get jealous but you've gone & done it now! Perhaps someday if I hit the lottery..... 😁 Very sweet ride, really nice run, you must be quite proud of your baby there!
@@gregamerson9172 - It's not an ICM - internal combustion motor, it's an ICE - internal combustion engine. Simple - motor is electric, engine is ICE! Sorry, I'm a purist, can't help it. Thanks, Dad!
@@gregamerson9172 - With due respect, it's not the same. Your analogy is purely a matter of pronunciation. Different pronunciations are acceptable. While the word motor today is used incorrectly by many, the difference is very straightforward. A motor is powered purely by electricity as a fuel. An engine is powered by a liquid fuel - gas, diesel, jet fuel, steam, etc. Ask any Mechanical Engineer.
even though the heads on these old Fe Fords were probably not as good as the canted valve heads on the 429 and 460 heads they were strong runners and sounded bad to the bone.
@@danmyers9372 I race an FE myself and crew for Ray Pequat. I just love the sound of an FE. But my comment was more towards those saying how radical the cam is. yes it is, but open header def makes them sound way nastier. Love the car, What's your best 1/4 so far?
I had 3 stangs back in the day. 66 coupe 289 3spd, 67 fastback 289 4spd, 69 MACH1 351 4spd. loved them all. presently I am buildin a 31 coupe w/69 Lincoln460 and I addded a 4spd...should be fun. check out my channel for FRANKENSTUDE TOO vids, burnout and walkarounds with open headers idling..guesstimate 475 hp
I'm a Chevy guy but the Mustang is always one of my favorite cars ! Great video!!
That's still one of the prettiest Mustang bodies ever.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CAM SOUNDS ONLINE.

Agree. And those Centerline style wheels looks great on any old muscle cars.

Had a buddy back in the day that said cam'd engines to him sounded like "Kentuckykentuckykentuckykentuckykentucky"..Best sound ever

I got to take a "through the gears" ride in an all original factory Boss 429 back in the day.
You owned that drag strip guy, nice run, great car! 😊
Oh Such SWEET ASS Music!
The exhaust at 0:05 sounds like the beginning of the Van Halen song 'Hot for Teacher!'
Been like a solid lifter motor
@tonythomas3408 - Been like a solid lifter motor? This IS a solid lifter motor (engine).

In this video he went 6.52@106. It has a 460 based motor now and goes 5.90-6.00@112-114
@mike force Clearly, anyone knows that 6.52 at 106 is the 1/8.
That can't be 1/4 mile elapsed time! It has to be 1/8 mile !
@Jerry Parks correct. I think it's been down the 1/4 once. 9.60's@141. No one around here really runs 1/4 races anymore.
Nice run, killer car.
that mustang was like a bullet
Yeah, that's who was driving it in the movie!
On this run it went 6.52@106. But it has a new motor now and has been 5.97@114
Big meats on the back really did their job
I've heard Harley Davidsons that idle smoother than this. Love it!
Cam
Diggin' it!
God that's a sexy car wow

A lot of what you are hearing is sound reverberating off the pavement and the bottom of the car.
