    If you delete the sap pump, you can utilise the bracket that it was bolted to. Another option anyway :)

    Great looking install! The only suggestion i would make, is to put some type of rubber grommet on the metal where the hoses pass through the ABS area into the engine bay. The engine moves and shakes, which will cause those hoses to rub against that metal and will eventually rub a hole in them.
    Something as simple as some rubber vacuum line with a slit cut in it, so it will slide onto the metal.
    Otherwise, very clean setup!

    Thanks for the insight with this video! I read up these a few years ago when I had my E46 M3 and I came to a similar conclusion as you mentioned early...non-turbo. However, it makes perfect sense to eliminate loss of performance by installing anyway. Do you have a link (affiliate or otherwise) for this one?

    Well I really like your car. It's a nice color and unique. You are also a good presenter on your videos. Great job! BUT I didn't hear anything about WHY I need to put a redundant part on my E46 M3. It is pointless as the BMW engineers already designed the S54 engine to just simply put the oil back into the engine where it belongs. It has a tube going from the very spot you took your oil catch can from and then put it into the engine. Please tell me why I NEED to perform this mod as I really don't see what the point is. Thanks for the video and you did a good job of putting it in.

      The oil catch can separate the oil from air/water and prevent the oil from going back to the engine. On a port injection it is not as important since the fuel injection spray can clean the valves. This set up is more important for direct injection where there is more carbon build up on the valves

  • @Theteese

    Pitty you never showed removing and installing the the bottom of the catch can....... I take it with your large hands you will need to remove the hoses off the catch can to get access to the removable bottom..... With SeanS54 install it appears that removing the bottom of the catch can would be easier.....

      @998RC 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct. This catch can just goes between the factory oil separator and the airbox. If that much fluid is getting into the catch can, that means the oil separator isn't working because it's clogging up and needs to be cleaned or replaced. Or you can bury your head in the sand and put in a catch can and wait for it to completely clog up and cause other problems.
