Remember that when you were spinning those wheels in your house, your skateboard was sideways and not flat like when you'd be riding it. Whatever activates the lights could be sensitive to their position, e.g., they activate when the wheels are in the correct position, and maybe not activate when they are placed on their sides.
I tighten my led wheels how I would tighten any kind and I find that the pressure of your weight plus the forward movement is what really lights them up, nothing to do with how tight they are. Good video though!! Have fun.

Hello,
I bought a set of new Sunset Flare LED Longboard Wheels 69mm 78A on eBay and installed them on my Carver X Triton 31" surfskate. Unfortunately, the bearings on two of the four wheels are not working properly and need to be replaced, and although the ball bearings installed are ABEC-9, they still run worse than the ABEC-7 ball bearings in the original Carver wheels.
Is it possible to remove the bearings from the wheels without damaging them or the electric? Or are they glued and would I damage the wheels or the electric if I tried to remove them?

They look awesome, but how are they powered? Do you have to change out a little battery eventually?
So apparently these are powered by kinetic friction, so they glow brighter and more the more weight and faster they spin.

I bought these in Rasta and I guess they’ve gone up in price over the past couple of years. I spent $33 and they’re 59 mm which is a stupid size but works okay on my 33” pool/dinghy style deck.
They’re mostly for show and vastly inferior to my RICTA clouds and spitfire 80hds on my cruiser boards.
The issue is that they’re slow and seem to be getting slower.
I want to put a new set of Swiss bearings, but I’m afraid of breaking the leds. I know they’ll help, but these wheels are probably still slow.

Wheels are supposed to be tight. If a tight wheel doesn't spin it's cause your bearing spacer is the wrong size. The wheel is supposed to spin on the bearings not the axel, and the nut when tightened down on a washer only applies force to the center of the bearing and the bearing spacer - locking it in place and ensuring the wheel spins on the bearings. The reason these don't spin freely on inertia is that they are a tiny generator and you are burning off rotational energy to make them light up. Nothing is free in physics...

Pretty much just for show, not a super comfortable ride. I only use them if I skate at night.

Not the greatest, these are more of just gimmick wheels. If you want a smooth controlled ride, stick with regular wheels

As long as the wheel moves, they light up. It claims they last for 100,000 hours of skate time.
@@JasonMazurek it works the life of the wheil, all genorators that have constant motion never end up. Eletro manets and genorator coils dont finish and permante mag +,- in 400 years. The draging( bracking) is do to the spacer(permante.magnets ring) that.has to stay still wail the bearing is put too spin it perifery not longer the usual center. Now you now that they never have too change a coil bicause sold all the eletrons.
