i'm glad fenty came out with hydrating foundation, i dont have to work my make up hard to get the glowing look.. and yeah the tube foundation, tube everything is the best cause u can get the most of the product.
I also have combo/oily skin. The original fenty foundation made my skin matte but it emphasised on my textured skin after a few hours. Only look great for the first 2 hours on my skin...i might buy the new foundation and mix it with the original 😁
OMFG I too have combo/oily skin and had the same problem with my texture being over-exposed! The soft matte foundation would even oddly seperate on some parts of my skin and expose lines that I never see. I''ve been hearing people rave about the Fenty Matte foundation being amazing from people online reviewing the foundation or on Fenty's comment section, I thought I was doing something wrong! Even bought the foundation twice and purchased the original Fenty soft matte primer and powder released with the matte foundation. I wish I saw a comment like this before I went through all that. The hydrating foundation is absolutely amazing though, plus it doesn't oxidize as bad as the Matte one. Fenty be straight up lying with saying that their matte and hydrating foundation shades of the same number are exactly the same when applied, cause they definitely aren't. A Fenty MUA working at a Fentybeauty counter at Harvey Nichols confirmed that for me when I was trying to find my match.
Never use matte anything on your skin if it’s dry it will ALWAYS emphasize your skins texture. Al to help i like primer oils better then like lotions because it hides the texture better and longer

I have oily combo skin too and I used to love the soft matte one to death but when my skin became slightly drier at certain parts, my skin just absolutely hated it. It emphasized all the textures I never knew I had too. I wanted to try the Hydrating Foundation version but I do have mostly oily combo skin and lived in a hot and humid climate, was afraid it'll just slip and slide on me. But now that I see your video and test wear on these, I'm sold! And knowing that you have the same kind of skin type as me too, I'm definitely sold! I have really dry skin, but if you wear either a lot of moisturiser or some form of oil underneath the original foundation, it doesn't dry your skin and lasts really nicely on your skin!

I just bought the soft matte one, but had a sample as well. I tested the sample and my bedroom lighting and the Fenty beauty counter lighting made it look smooth... I stepped into another lighting in my corridor and ooooh my gosh I can see texture I never knew I had! 😥. I'm oily skin and I thought matte would make my life better... But ya know what I'll stick to creamy oil hydrating formulas and blot as needed
I have dry skin and I still love wearing it. I just had to find a primer that works. I found the Clinique moisturizer works like a moisturizing primer for this beautifully.
I just bought the hydrating one today. I really like how it feels. The sephora lady matched me wrong so I have to go back but I know how it feels at least. I also got the silk primer and 👍👍 Also I have dry skin with acne discoloration and it covered well.
With the mate foundation you need a smoothing primer but it lasts forever. I had a lot of acne scars and that foundation was amazing for parties and weddings
I am dying over Andy's astute observation 🤣 I patiently waited for this formula and was not disappointed. I think with the more dewy finish the light reflects better and does make you look so much smoother 🥰💗💗
I have combination skin and have both of these foundations,I dislike the matte one,it clings on my dry patches so I gave it to my sister who has truely oily skin. I like the hydrating one better but I don't love it either. it looks very nice when first applied but looks very shiney after just a three or four hours eventhough I use mattifying primer and set it with Huda's baking power and All Nighter spray.it doesn't transfer or fade away, just look super shiney(and I'm not even really oily!). It's not a very bad type of shiney because it doesn't seprate or feel greasy or make my pores look huge,but it looks as if I have applied highlighter on my whole nose and cheeks.I finally decided to save it for winter I had both in similar shade(190) but the matte one oxidizes a bit while the hydrating one doesn't oxidize.

Trina I think you need to try the new smashbox foundation. I have normal 46 year old skin but with the right skin prep it works for me and I think it’s a a really pretty foundation, but I think it will be great for your skin as well. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! And work in stages. It dries pretty quick.

I dropped the glass bottle once and it ruined the pump completely. The bottle was full. Was heartbroken. I did eventually smash the top off the bottle when I got desperate. 😂 I like the tube concept because I have such shaky hands and drop stuff constantly.

I think I’ll prefer the tube one for the hydrating foundation because you’ll be able to push out the product if it’s almost finished .
