Thanks for the video I´m from Argentina, could you please tell me the valve clearance according to manual, both for intake and exhaust? i can´t find that information . We use mm not in , here in Argentina. Thanks in advence
Whether it is an exhaust or an intake valve adjustment, the correct gap is .001-.003 thousandths inches, which is .03-.08mm. All you are interested in is the gap measurement.
Was your valvetrain noisy ..and that's why you did this 2) poor proformance..Crack the throttle and had a bog .. 3) poor compression in a few cylinders and this improved it .. I'm asking because my suffers from 2 + 3..
Hi Jerry, the valvetrain was not noisy. It just had not been done for a long time. The valves had gotten tight = not enough clearance due to normal wear. It runs much better afterwards, smoother, more power. I also want to tune the new VM32 carbs so first step is to do the valve adjustment. Poor valve adjustment will affect compression but more likely it points to worn valve seats. Good luck man!
@@scottherman6774 Do you think that needing to check valve clearance could mimic a lean condition? I’ve installed all new rubber intake/air hose and covered every carb related anything and still sneaks up to 4k
Nice work man, I had that doubt about how I can adjust valves, I thought that this engine was a “balancines” engine, you have a new subscriber
Thanks man!

I just knew it needed to be done. It runs much smoother, revs faster, idles better. The valvetrain wasn't noisy.
