Travel Cuba : Training day at Rafael Trejo Boxing Gym Havana, Cuba

During a recent trip to Havana, Cuba, Fork & Valise stopped by the infamous Gimnasio de Boxeo Rafael Trejo. Under the guidance of former Cuban Boxing Champ and current trainer, Nardo Mestre Flores, boxers hone their skills at the open air gym nestled in the side streets of Havana.
The gym can be hard to find if you don’t know where to look. It sits on a narrow one way street with only a small weathered yellow sign hanging outside to identify you’ve reached your destination.
