@@joelstephenson Well in the interest of civil intelligent discussion I'm curious to know what draws you more to vintage. There are many non-game games in that cube, and combos often come into play rather than simply good synergy. A lot else can happen, sure, there are interactive and wild games in vintage. This format however is heavily geared towards interactive MTG.
I like vintage cube very much, but just like any other format, you do get to see decks that are a bit samey after a while. The big downside of vintage cube is that it’s hard to tweak since it makes little sens to drop some of the best archetypes for weaker ones for the sake of diversity. Like, I’m tired of kikki-twin combos, but it takes only 5/6 cards in the whole thing and both Resto and Zealot also fit in other decks, which would make a dumb cut. For that reason, I’d agree with you that other cube formats can be more interesting although more streamlined at times.
probably not for a while. The card design contest ends on the 15th, then I have to finish making it and stuff. I'll post more update videos on it though
At 38:10, I think you played it correctly even if you thought the opponent could have lightning bolt. Your only other option is not attacking. Any way you do it, the best you can hope for with the attack is to get your unblocked guy bolted and trade with the 3/3.
Yay Pauper! Just wondering btw are you still going to be making videos of pauper decks every now and then? And what do you think about doing a series where viewers submit their spicy pauper lists and you help improve them? Hope you had a great Christmas 😁
Man it wasn't obvious (to my dumb self anyway) during the draft, but watching those games it really does show how utterly *miserable* it is trying to block vs the red deck. So much "can't block" coupled with plenty of burn and buffs, blocking just is not a game plan you can rely on.

35:15 watching that excitement to play Armasour transition into the devastation of an opposing bigger dinosaur hurt my soul
After watching your supreme cube drafting it's funny to hear the evaluations "wow, this one is really good" for cards like vulshok morningstar

Imho this is more interesting than vintage cube.
I would respectfully disagree. But I'm glad the content is here for diversity.

100% agree
Loving the pauper stuff. Keep up the good work Dr. Gannon.
Im really enjoying the diversity of your videos! when are we going to see gameplay of your cube?

Came for the Magic content, stayed for the orange stories.
Keep up the good content! All your videos of cube has inspired me to make my own cube for myself and my friends. Any suggestions for fun budget cards?
Nobody expects the Artillerize inquisition
Yay Pauper!

YAY! been waiting so long for more pauper cube content
Yay. I prefer peasant cube but this is still more interesting than vintage.
If I had more peasant cube I would post it!
Pauper cube looks super fun!
man, that first pack was hard to watch... but reassuring to know even trophy leaders can be blinded by "the Plan" and can pass up the open archetype.
What's the cube list?
Keep up the cubes
is it atm on mtgo, i cant find it under limited raster?
Is a two mana cantrip really what this deck wants to do?
is branching bolt just not as good as I think it is?
Is there a list of current version of MTGO Pauper Cube?

I'm not sure if this is up to date, but seems to be
Pauper grind is awesome, better than vintage alot of the time.
28:00 surprised you didnt board in double green fatties and just -1 mountain and add a forest.
Pauper cube is fun, but it's sad that Tortured Existence isn't a deck. Why is that card in the cube??
Not sure why three visits was not considered?
Dang, looking at Sylvok Lifestaff passing by made me die inside.
I want a Caleb Gannon smoothie recipe book
Featuring classics such as "If I put the banana in now, I play around Daze" and "Joghurt instead of ice cream is basically fixing".
Haha nice. Yogurt, blueberry, blackberry raspberry, and spinach aka "5-Color Good Stuff"
@@jbatterden Gotta love the greed piles 😋
@@Yuzuki1337 "nobody ever plays around banana tithe"
@@justaguy3310 This made me laugh way more than it should have, tier 1 pun right there
Do you still stream on twitch?
not at the moment. Last 2-3 times I tried it my internet just crashed, so I'm waiting until I move to test it again.
@@CalebGannon I see, when you start again please tell us!!
I will always support Gruul
guardian can be so busted in a lot of pauper cubes. iv managed to lose the last 4 games iv picked it with mine though lol

You certain they were oranges and not grapefruits?
I... don't remember the context haha what did I say about oranges?
@@CalebGannon you were saying something about bitter oranges for your smoothies. Or I was just remembering incorrectly. I was really tired last night.
Green white tokens would've been sweet
U da man
Oh no! Ambuscade does not "make them fight"...card might be better than u think....
You could have had so many burn spells darn
Hello Doc!
hello!
@@CalebGannon How are you on this fine day? Enjoying holidays?
I'm doing alright! holidays are much less exciting this year without seeing family, but its nice to relax. Hope you are doing well also!
@@CalebGannon It's gonna be better next year :DD
this deck would have been -soooo- much better red/white.
