@@Disparagingcheers b4 is only 40f in total. if the opponent wants to take full advantage of the -9f on block, they have to start acting on the 31st frame, which means buffering input during the 26th~30th frame window. in other words, it's another snake edge that they have to keep an eye out for, which slows everything else down a little bit. and the reward is at most a 50/50, nothing guaranteed. and if they don't do it fast enough they risk eating feng's many panic moves. in real fight even the best players rarely cash in on that -9f.
I second this. Arya is unrivaled for Tekken tutorials. His flawless delivery and high production quality videos should absolutely be made part of Tekken 8
Elaborate character specific tutorials like this may be difficult to pull off because 1) a lot of these are discovered over a fairly long period of extensive play by pros 2) they'd need to update it as players discover new tech and as they add balance patches. IMO, in-game tutorials should only take you through mostly the fundamentals of the gameplay and maybe a few advanced concepts and finally, Bamco should expand the training mode to provide more info like the frame data and even tracking properties of moves.
@@nginroom8108 I disagree. If this was like most fighters I think you would be right but I think it would work just fine for Tekken. Most of the characters haven't changed very much at all since their first appearance in the series.

For anyone interested if Feng ends combo with f3, 4 you get enough time to dash into a ff3 and the opponent either has to block (which gives you +8) or eat the ff3 while grounded, and if they try any kind of grounded attack they get hit for a huge CH combo.

his best low poke is d3+4 Note : at plus 4 it can’t get crushed nor interrupted opponent must crouch to stop it so no big risk at all for big a reward(preparing the enemy to get launched) although it isn’t damaging by any means but it is fast highcrush and annoying enough to make opponents duck, i usually do it instead of down jab just to make my opponent frustrated of it and duck

@@GORO911 Well I used to play Josie and I would get stressed too, for me it's just the culture of online fighting games, its too unhealthy for me personally and I decided to drop that hobby, sadly I have no offline friend or rival to compete against and I had to remove myself from the game. I think offline would be much much better because I remember Tekken 3 and there was so much fun to be had playing with many different people in my town. Plus I get old and my job and other things get in the way of my dedication for this game, Tekken is one of those games you have 1000 hours in and you're still a newbie.
I really want to thank you... I decided to learn Tekken for real, but I couldn't really decide who play: I love Lei and Steve, but they were too peculiar and I was always hyper aggressive. After watching your guide I decided to give Feng a try and I'm loving him. I'm relying on movement and punishes much more, this character is so uderrated by the community. I am so happy! I was waiting for an in-depth analysis video for such a long time! I saw this in my list (among funny cat-dog videos) and clicked instantly.
Oh and two things to notice for the combos: On bigger characters like Miguel you can actually WS2, df4, 1, f1+2, dash, f3+4 for a full combo. Tho the timing is a bit strict. Also a point on Rage Art: Instead of finishing the baseline combo with f3+4, b1+2 (or f3, b1+2) you can f3, RA. The opponent will get hit as soon as he touches the ground. Be cautious of the angle, because it won't hit if the enemy has a weird angle (like most of Fengs Combo endings do at this point). About angled wallbounce: Only in super rare cases you get a clean wallbounce that launches the enemy directly back at you. When using df2,2 at the wall (plenty of reasons why to do that) he will probably get launched "away" from you. The problem is that if you do a combo afterwards he will be backturned the whole time, so your basic combos don't hit. I tried a bit and easy things to do when this happens are f3+4; 1; db1,4; 3~4 OR df3+4, dash, f3+4, b1+2
God I love these long winded videos, so much useful information, not just for the characters themselves but sheds a lot of light on how Tekken works if ur a beginner. Hopefully u keep making these!

Just a quick add in, For a more optimized F1+2 combo @39:39, after the screw, dash, 3,3, 1, f3,4 , b1+2 for 67 damage. 5 more damage than the one shown, and it's not too hard. (works on all characters to include Xiaoyu and Kuma)

Something worth noting about the combos! If you want truly optimal damage after any f1+2 screw, you do ff 4~3 into jab, f3, shoulder. Just a little tidbit from a Feng main! :)
Not bad. Good guide. Out of Shifting Clouds (f+3+4) you seemed to have forgotten left punch (f+3+4, 1) hehe. It's a longer range launcher that's safe on block if spaced correctly.
Finally a video on this Charakter... now i got a challenge. Nobody know's EXACTLY the Matchup against a Feng, for Example: "nobody" punishes b1+2 with a Launch. I hope People understand playing against him now and he cant get away with everything. Really good Video Dude !

Biggest con for me concerning Feng is he feels very inconsistent at times. Sometimes (at least for me) a combo will hit this time, but miss the next as an example. Plus having to always realign with him can be annoying. But incredible guide by the way!

@@GORO911 Exactly...His staple f3 combo starter often requires you to sidestep cancel to hit it after a screw, tack in lag and a 3 bar can throw the whole thing off. That's honestly why I play an EXTREMELY poke heavy Feng where 95% of my dmg comes from, while only relying on less damage but more consistent combos.

I'm new to Tekken 7 and these guides have been quite helpful in learning the game, I would love to see a guide for an odd character like Alisa, though I don't play her, she definitely seems like one of the most unpredictable characters on the roster. I'm still struggling to find my main but I've been enjoying characters like Shaheen, Master Raven and (i know she's reallly easy but) Katarina. Also I enjoy Yoshimitsu but I'm still pretty awful at him

Yeah, he's not that common offline in tournaments either. Feng's versatile moveset is kind of hurt by the FT2 format imo. It can be difficult to figure out what moves are best used against the opponent or player in such a short space of time.
He is not a 15 move character, you have to utilize his whole move list to be effective. Ton of great situational tools, not so much universally good ones. Makes him hard to use, people tend to use easier ones.
On top of the fact that he's worse off in short sets & requires you to be with familiar with most of his moves ... a lot of people don't like the nerfs he got in s2, especially his kenpo stance having less i-frames.
This video has already 3 years, and, like The Simpsons, predicted the future for the character in the competitive scene. Great work, as usual 👏🏾 #ISaluteYou

Laggyness minor frame data adjustments are made every season, and they matter more than you think.
Why would they do that when people do the work for free?

Side step will not work for big characters, as a king player I can not side step a lot of the moves.

I'm new to Tekken 7 and these guides have been quite helpful in learning the game, I would love to see a guide for an odd character like Alisa, though I don't play her, she definitely seems like one of the most unpredictable characters on the roster. I'm still struggling to find my main but I've been enjoying characters like Shaheen, Master Raven and (i know she's reallly easy but) Katarina. Also I enjoy Yoshimitsu but I'm still pretty awful at him

I find it amazing how underrated he is... maybe it's just me but I really don't face that many feng players online🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, he's not that common offline in tournaments either. Feng's versatile moveset is kind of hurt by the FT2 format imo. It can be difficult to figure out what moves are best used against the opponent or player in such a short space of time.
He is not a 15 move character, you have to utilize his whole move list to be effective. Ton of great situational tools, not so much universally good ones.
Makes him hard to use, people tend to use easier ones.
On top of the fact that he's worse off in short sets & requires you to be with familiar with most of his moves ... a lot of people don't like the nerfs he got in s2, especially his kenpo stance having less i-frames.
The problem with feng is that he is good in most areas but he doesn't excell in a specific one imo
I pretty much do a 5 game set at a minimum with any other Feng player I find with how rare he is.

It's not the full breakdown only the essential. Honestly hope he does a full breakdown soon and I'm sure it will be much longer lol.
