I literally had to rewind that part at least twice because I kept letting King players get away with move so much that I don't even punish. I thank you and your team for your hard work, keep the vids coming hopefully I can see a Master Raven Essentials vid soon!
Yup low parry it, that move so slow If u not low parry it, u will just get ws 4 punish If u low parry it The king will never use that move again to u again
As other have mentioned low parrying the move is the most reliable way to punish the move. If you want to hit harder, the move is slow enough that you can even low crush it with a low crushing hopkick, although the window to react is more strict. The fact that this move's safety on block has been altered is somewhat irrelevant because the proper defensive options have remained the same.

I’m proud to say I knew most of what was included already, but the few I didn’t are just that much better for mix-ups. Really great video altogether, my only gripe is those combos weren’t exactly optimized, they just gave the smallest output of damage available.
This tutorial is good and I like that you use the illustrations that are on the screen long enough for us to understand how to do these moves, that is what separates you from the rest as far as I can tell, can't wait to put your video to the test when I get home as I am at work now :'(

King has always been my main since Tekken 3. I just feel at home with him.Pretty much have all his main moves are second nature to me and they aren't too complicated to pull off and mix up with. The all do decent damage as well. His melee moves have gotten better with each Tekken release since 3 it seems.I have had fun playing with him on Tekken 7. Still learning his combos but always love doing this chain throws. I managed the death cradle only a few times when I played Tekken 3 but I give it to anyone that can do that during a online or tournament match. I usually stick to the reverse stretch chains to end in a giant swing or muscle buster. I also do the King's Bridge chain with no problem. I'm far from a expert with him but I will use your guide to be more smart about which moves I use. Thanks for this!

This is very helpful and I like this type of tutorial, thank you for this video. King's the first character I decided to use and learn when I finally had the heart to play Tekken for real. Made me drop Law for a bit, since I was able to utilize more of the techniques I had from 2D fighters using King. This proved as the logical choice for players who likes using characters with command grabs on other fighting games.
Oh my god, just the vid I need. I've been re-watching command list video on King. Now this vid appeared in my Recommendation. I've been meaning to be a King main for the longest of time and been practicing on Tekken 5, getting Tekken 7 this christmas on PC. I love King, he's my favorite character. He plays up close and personal with awesome throw animations. Hopefully being after being a King Main I can learn someone like Jin or Katarina.
So happy you're doing Lee next!!! I'm having a hard time forming a solid gameplay plan with him. However he's so much fun to use and his combos are so fun to execute that I can't not play him! Looking forward to your rundown with him :) also covering in detail how to use hitman stance since I never know how to use it effectively!
Word of advice for the air throws. You can mix it up with D 1+2 to give you a chain follow up throw. D 2+4 (or 1+3) can lead to a giant swing 2, 1, 3, 4 or the easier 1+2, 1+2. I like to use one until someone figures out the breaks and switch to the other.

Don't forget that King's 2,1 jab string is now +7 on hit. Even things like Ling trying to go into her AOP get beat by follow up quick mids after this move connects. It's good to keep her in check. The new string for season 3 is cool, but even that seems to have it's best use for me after the 2,1 jab string. After 2,1 I sometimes fish for a standing 4 counter hit into the new string for a little combo. The 2,1 string in season 3 is doing a lot of work for me, and I'm not very good.
Very good guide for someone just starting out with King. I also highly recommend Boxer King's videos for more King-specific tech. He has videos on neutral, oki, harder combos, and even wavedashing with King (which is even harder than the Mishima WD). Some other comments: King's WS1 is 10 frames (one of the only characters with such a WS1) and does 12 damage, so it usually works better as the -10 WS punisher than fc d+1. f,f,n+1+2 is +7 on hit, not +5. A hopknee after this move cannot be interrupted by a i10 jab (otherwise it would trade). d+1+2 has the same combo as the Rage Drive, and CH f,F+1 can be followed up with f,F+1, d/f+4,3, 1, (iSW or f+2,1).

You are the best when it comes to the guides for characters. Its incredibly professional yet comedic. I wish you could get the guides out faster but you can't rush perfection. On a side note... I can't stand king. Giving you no definitive way to break kings throws sucks
I got into Tekken 7 a bit late, but King stood out for me as a grappler and a beast. (no pun intended.) Reading up on his background and realizing he not only is inspired by Tiger mask and have been succeeded by one of the kids in the orphanage he defended, he has so much spirit. I think I've watched this video 5 times to brush up and get better with him, thanks tons for this. o/
df1 for king in tekken 1 was his best move, it was like plus 3 on hit and minus 5 on whiff, but due to a big coding oversight, it was plus 90 on block. The pro strategy to deal with this move back in the day was to get hit with it, and after enough hits, you would be out of his range.
Summing up King in 20 minutes is NOT an easy task. And you actually made it, with top notch quality. Hope people realize this!

1:34 , That hit was personal
