One echo I used very frequently that was EXTREMELY helpful for exploration was the flying tile. Just summon and hop on it and you can skip big chunks of levels. I even used it to get past that first big floor trap in the water dungeon lol
Best early game echo is the peahat. You can collect it before starting the first dungeon, maybe even before heading into the first rift. Found in a little cave south of the first dungeon. The makes the first boss so easy.
I’ve been playing this game all day and had no idea you could kill the thwamp-y platform guys and learn their echo. I would’ve played through this whole game without realizing that. Never thought to use a spider to walk up a wall, either 🤯 Thank You so much for this knowledge, sir.
The Crawltula was the biggest brain move, I immediately stopped what I was doing and wanted to open up the map. I now have a Lizalfos Lv. 3 that I cannot use because little Tri isn’t strong enough yet haha awesome vid as always
Love this game! Grew up with the top down view and so happy they are doing it again. I was using the trampoline to.get up to those trees. Keep learning something new with all your videos Ty!!!
As a 90s kid, I grew up with games that had tall trees that were in-traversable.. to see you just casually crawling and walking over them to a new zeon is unsettling and feels wrong 🤣
Pathblades are great for fast horizontal or diagonal movement along flat ground, Flying Tiles are great for horizontal or diagonal movement above pits, and Ghini can hit switches through walls.
Nice to be back here with Austin John Plays. Liking the game so far, but I think I might just mainline the story. The Echo menu system is just too frustrating to deal with. Appreciate these video that make things a little bit easier to deal with.
i cant believe i walk pass through the one-eyed yellow platform without even trying to hit it.. i completely missed an OP echo right there! I'm coming back right now to that gerudo dessert cave to get one, thank you Austin!
Had all except the Platboom, which was easy to get (and also there's a heart piece there!), thanks! That Chompfin was a pain for me to get too, but more than worth it.
The first time in the game that Tri told me I could follow the thing I selected, I didn’t understand it and didn’t keep trying to because the puzzle there was solved with spider silk. Cut to me in two different situations later thinking that the crawtula was useless to me because I would bring him out and he would leave, the end. “What is the point of you??” I almost always forgot I even had the select and move ability until around mid game. Now I know how to use that! ……Although now that I know I can kill and copy platbooms, I guess the crawtula will shine in a second playthrough someday. Thanks so much, Austin!
The Ghini Echo is pretty useful. They can attack enemies through water and walls, along with hitting switches on the other side of ways. They are found in the cemetery northwest of the castle.
Agree with the sharks, but to even get it, I think the other great aquatic echo, the bomb fish, would help a ton. You don’t even actually have to defeat it yourself; as long as it blows up you can learn the echo. They defeat the shark much quicker.
My top favorite early echos: Spiked roller, this is the closest thing I have for direct attacking without summoning a monster to.attack enemies, Solf bed, upgrade from the old bed as you can recover more hearts platboom+Trampoline, these two together can get me anywhere I need in high places.
Such a fun game, I love the open ended ways you can solve puzzles and traversing the environment. I love hitching onto a bird or spider to climb up the walls. My only complaint so far is that I wish the echoes were more exploration rewards. For example, there is a large plant-based enemy that I found short off the beaten path as I was going to one of the dungeons, and it turned out to be a really good echo and I felt very rewarded for exploring. I appreciate that so far any "essential" echoes have been right in my face for the most part, though.
thankyou Austin Jhon for the tips. i loved the rock monster fight but did not like the cloud eyeball as much. i had to look up how to beat that but beat the rock monster on my own. have not beaten any boss encounter for awhile on my on puzzle ability that says how excellent this game design is to me.
sea urchins are also extremely useful. Especially after you gain the ability to spawn echoes from a distance. You can use them almost like a ranged attack.
Super fun game, give Links Awakening Remaster vibes but also Link to the Past which is by far the greatest. Strategy in this game makes it unique. Top 3
Platboom is awesome. Awesome i like the spinny spikey plants things too (name?). They are GREAT for running through open areas eith enemies or grass cutting
You forgot the peahat and the bombfish. The Peahat really came in clutch in the tutorial dungeon. Also, the spiky sea-urchin came in clutch for the optional side-quest dungeon as well...
Hmm, I hadn't heard anyone recommend the platboom as they usually go with the water blocks that can stick to vertical surfaces and can be stacked to swim through. Being able to spawn in an elevator seems more convenient, though.
I started the game by going to the Faron Wetlands. If you have the sea urchin, then you can kill a shock blob which can carry through most of the first 2 big rifts.
You should’ve mentioned the bombfish and ignozols. There’s things that need to be blown up and there are tons of puzzles where you need to set things on fire
I’m trying to keep my self from getting spoiled for this game because I asked for it for Christmas so that’s when I’ll play it and it’s hard avoiding all the game played coming out even before the game day release but this the FIRST VIDEO I checked out of it and damn I’m so amazed and can’t wait to play and sorry I only watched half the video I’m committed to not knowing anything about this game want to go in completely blind 💯🔥🔥
I'm watching this after getting to the deku town... early... you weren't kidding that I wasn't ready for the monsters... but I got darknut 3! Can't wait to be able to actually be able to summon him... lol
Can we talk about the flying buzzsaw that is the Peahat? Just Ultrahand an enemy over to them and watch them get torn to shreds. On topic of the Crawltula, he can absolutely cheese the Zora dungeon. Fall down that hole and Tri swears you can't get back up? I just set down a couple of crates, placed my spider buddy, and rode it back out. Need to raise the geyser up to reach those upper rooms? Nah, just scale the wall and go for the master key.
Crows are great but I think albatrosses are better once you get them, they don’t do one hit and get distracted on base enemies and I think they might do slightly more damage
I just stood on the rocks to the left of the boat, the shark will stay right there and you can drop a ton of sea urchins on him! Took less than a minute!
I still have a gripe about combat, it just either is too easy with certain echoes or a constant urge to just want to wack at enemies with a sword and get it over with. It becomes super tedious to keep running in circle sending echoes after aechoes.
@@theshadowspider97 Video shows it. I used an echo that shoots projectiles placed right next to the Platboom. It's vulnerable from the sides, so trigger it to come down and let the places echoes kill it.
Sexy Austin is back!!! Wooooo! This will be my first Zelda game (I bought Botw but never got past the beginning out of confusion) so I’ll be watching your guides! Can’t wait for a new pokemon game to watch your stuff again!
Hey Austin it seems like you kind of just stopped making any TOTK content when you went to Japan and never picked back up. Ever going to finish shrine hunters at least?
crawltula's are great 'tanks'. They destroy any pesky small enemy in a breeze and are pretty good with the medium enemies as well. Then I figured out I can use the crawltula to basically break the game in terms of navigation by getting up walls.
Beds and trampolines by themselves lets you scale most regular-sized walls regardless, crawtula is just more for convenience sake, though quickly you'll likely upgrade to water blocks regardless because of how fast it lets you scale smaller obstackes
(NO SPOILERS PLEASE I HAVEN'T PLAYED) can you equip two echoes at once? like having the two equipment slots in links awakening and being able to use one with X button and one with Y? I've heard people complaining that its too tedious to equip echoes so I was just wondering. thanks!
@@AustinJohnPlays oh, okay thanks. i could see that being a hassle while in the middle of a heated fight or something but we'll see when I hop on later. i preordered from gamestop Canada and our prorder bonus is a lame card (not saying the art is lame its just lame compared to what we could've gotten like pins or something)

Knew you would be back when the new Zelda game hit I love playing these games and listening to your avicd
I heard an idea a long time ago of a Zelda game where you play a Gannon pre-wind Waker where you caused the ocean to flood
It makes sense since we are about giving non-playable characters their own games
Best early game echo is the peahat. You can collect it before starting the first dungeon, maybe even before heading into the first rift. Found in a little cave south of the first dungeon. The makes the first boss so easy.
That thing goes through enemies like a weed whacker. I missed it on my first play through, but will definitely get it early from now on.
Peahat was the supreme echo of my playthrough. Peahat + enemy monster "guiding" = meat grinder.
Note about Crows! : When they hit things, they spraw rupees once! Crows are amazing for rupee farming.
Just noticed that!! Amazing!
They’ll also pick up rupees for you
Quick note, you can also get carmadilo lvl.2 in a little cave on a cliff if you go straight north of the Gerudo Desert entrance.
yes... but... i want you to love the Eastern Temple as much as I did
@@AustinJohnPlays can’t argue with that 😉

"The wolf will not take damage." *immediately takes damage*
That spider trick is mind-blowing. I already knew he was an op mob to have on your side but daaaaaang. Time to back track now.
Yeah you can basically skip the entire water dungeon with it

Can't wait to play tomorrow with all of Austin's videos.
Crawltulas are insane. Seen lots of vids where people use them for all kinds of “sequence breaking.”
Shark, flying tile, bloom platform my absolute go to's in this game to name a few. But the spider and wolf's are new ones thank you
I’ve learned so much and can’t wait to play! Thank you!

I’m excited to play a game where Zelda is the protagonist since she doesn’t get a lot of representation in the games besides totk BOTW and OoT.
Imagine if Zelda was playable in botw and totk? That would’ve been sick, but I’ll take this
Spirit tracks?
Zelda is pretty bad ass in most Zelda games . Link wouldn’t ever succeed without her . Dream team
@@Red-hw5ueI would have loved this in BOTW/TEARS engine . Hopefully we get more

#1 best early game echo….trampoline. You’re welcome
I see this game as a speed runner's dream game with so much mechanics to exploit and sequence break a lot.
Pathblades are great for fast horizontal or diagonal movement along flat ground, Flying Tiles are great for horizontal or diagonal movement above pits, and Ghini can hit switches through walls.
I’m surprised how well the echo system works with the Zelda franchise.

It's actually easier to get the shark with the platboom echo, you can just sit there and it will usually trap it underneath it
for the chompfin you can swim up to him and spam buzz blobs, its a lot faster since electricity attacks stun him and have AOE damage
I used the same little spike things that are near it in the water and it worked great.

Saving to get the game, looks a lot like fun
Chompfin is an easy kill with the yellow platform echo. Took it out in maybe 3 drops on top of it.
Oh that spider is so broken holy getting this game just to see what I can do with that
Crows make for great flying mounts.
