Thank you so much for uploading this. The catch which holds the drum on ours broke and from watching your video I could see that i only needed to buy a replacement yellow part and then could clean it all before putting it all back together, it's aa good a new now.

I’d say you got a lot of repeat customers.

I realise this is an old video but my DC33 is still going strong here in Brisbane. I have literally only just had the first problem with it and have had to take it apart for the first time. I’ve always kept it clean and washed the 2nd filter you took out but I never knew about the first one because my machine doesn’t have a clear plastic cover that is on the machine you have and is shown on all the manuals I find online!? Mine is just the bin sitting on top of the a grey cover which is able to come off if you have two pairs of hands or there’s no quick release lever (you’d need to use 3 tools to push the tabs while you lift the cover backwards) and I can see a filter underneath that). I can’t find anything online about my machine and I wondered if you’d any idea on if it’s okay to force this cover off and wash this filter or likely replace it given it’s never been done! Hope you can help🤞

I have no idea, sometimes dyson filters are fitted underneath something that screws in, might not even look like a screw. or what about a local vacuum repair shop? They will know if you bring it in? if it is working fine then why clean it?

@@bootsowenThanks for the reply. I cleaned it because it was only sucking via the hose and not when using it like an upright vacuum. The filter I asked about is the only part I haven’t cleaned with the exception of taking the machine apart and reaching parts that aren’t supposed to be reached unless it’s in for a service! Think I might have to try get the part off that I mention above and see if cleaning that second filter will help🤷🏻‍♀️ Not sure paying someone to look at it is worth it given the age of the machine😂

It sounds like there is something stuck in the pipes between the brush head and the motor. I would focus on taking that apart for a look. A coin or bottle cap will stop it the way you describe!

Perhaps I'll figure this out before you reply but there is a screw under the canister opener (red part) that I can't figure how to get out therefore I can't remove the top (yellow part) . I didn't see that step in your video. Any advice?

The seals in the DC33 are terrible. I wish they had used the seal which they use in the DC14 on the DC33.
