I'll bet even Mozart or Beethoven would like this because it's so atmospheric. Sometimes rock music could hold its own with so called "classical" music. But you don't see that very much now.

I had Sticky Fingers on 8 track - player mounted under my dashboard of my car back in the 1970's. You old Rockers like me know what that is.
Now in my 60ies riding with this song on my apple car play driving down South to FL from NY in 2024 this song plays recalling all the dudes I hung out with & adventures we had, many friends now past or faded away, the lovers I had the places I've been the magnificent achievements as well as the devastating failures. I'm still rolling down the highway as the moon glows thru my skylight as it silently tells me to Rock On & keep Rolling down the road. As this bittersweet Stones masterpiece embraces my heart mind & soul. I'm hiding sister and I'm dreaming down the road.
So Rock on brothers and sisters - & may your road be smooth, clear and steady.

I'm a little younger, 55, but understand what you're saying completely, and have had those same moments quite a bit myself lately. Wasn't happy with myself a few years ago, and needed both knee's replaced. Was 40 lbs overweight, and popping "doctor prescribed" norcos like tic tacs. Had both done, got off those miserable pills, and back into great shape, which in turn has made me a better dad, husband, friend, etc. I've learned that it's not so much what happens in life, but how you react to it, and no matter what happens when you handle the knocks the right way, life and living in your own skin becomes much easier, and generally also better for everyone around you. Thanks for the post and keep fighting the good fight!

The greatest mistake the Stones ever made was not doing WHATEVER IT TOOK,
to keep Mick Taylor in the band.
For starters, they could have PAID him.
He was given no credits on SEVERAL albums---in other words, no residuals.
In addition, his mates should have helped him with drug addiction and got him the help he needed to stay with the band. They did not...
With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY,
Keef couldn't hold a candle to him.
Make no mistake, Keith Richards is a very good guitarist.
Mick Taylor is a GREAT guitarist. A guitar genius.
Right up there with Hendrix, Clapton, and Santana.
    No doubt about it.
The five albums he produced with the Stones from '69-'74 are all classics.
The band was never the same after 1974.

This is the most powerful song The Stones ever did. The raw emotion and depth of lyrics. The Stickyfingers album is what made these guys. The pain, the honesty of this album. This was the defining line from the Brian Jones era to the modern Stones. This album was interesting including dark songs like "Sister Morphine" and "Dead Flowers"....and this song is closure.

There are some good newer acts out there but you have to really search for them or hear about them thru word of mouth. Radio gives them zip airplay. My advice is to introduce your kids and grandkids to music like this to keep it going and inspire young artists to make better music.
