One thing that's always bothered me about this substory is that Kiryu can ask to meet his parents, however the guys state they are childhood friends so he must've met the parents regardless right? The line "This is moving too fast" impiles he never met with the parents but they are childhood friends so wouldn't his parents have at least seen him playing with him? I'm looking way too deep into a choice in a substory about voice acting, lol.
Actually if I was Ryuzaki I wouldn’t really berate Kiryu since those lines can be used for various outcomes that could happen if that line was picked by the player
I'd love to see the VN writer who can manage the handbrake turns from boys love romance, to boys love horror, to boys love fighting game, to boys love...uh...whatever a pissing contest fits into. Warioware-style surreal minigame compilation?
My little gay heart was bursting when I played through this one! I didn’t even know how it was gonna turn out, I just kept putting the gay answer and was overjoyed when it was the right choice. One bit if subtext I love is that Kiryu says he’s trying to be in the role when he suggests meeting their parents, which means 1. He’s imagining himself as a gay teen and 2. He would still try to be old fashioned even if he was with a guy

@@LucasSilva-ng9nw sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on the side quest. When it comes to substories, I just pick the wrong option just to dick around since sub story never really have much consequence to begin with in a Yakuza game.

In an interview Kiryu's VA actually said that he likes substories so much he gives 100% effort on them, and wondering if we could tell
Kiryu’s VA did do boys love voice acting before tho so it makes it 1000x better

"Meet the parents" also implies the introduction of each other as lovers, so maybe that's what it means.
