I still have my mom's 1964 wedding gown. Sadly, it was never preserved so all that chantilly lace is so fragile it just tears. You have really inspired me to get back to sewing after a long dry spell. Caring for elderly parents. Also getting back to my quilts. Happy sewing & thank you!

I used to work at a Costume Hire place years ago, and just recently they GAVE AWAY a whole rack of Antique and Vintage Wedding Dresses... I missed out on them and would have shared them with Our Steam Punk groups as they love to do fab things with things like this .... I was KICKING myself for missing out on them (even though I would have no room in our tiny Cottage). THEN I see this incredible Creation , She looks so Divine!! Thanks ever so much for sharing Your knowledge xx from New Zealand . PS I am more of a Putter-together-er and can just manage a button but You break things down so well, that I am going to set up an area and have a go. First though I will try making some Flowers ..thanks again !!! Then I will tackle the racks of thrifted clothes and make myself some things that I had n My Imagination when I bought them . xx
The sequence on the neck area of the donated dress would’ve made a great choker as well. I just love this boho dress idea. I really should try it. I have a sewing machine and I can sew really well. I’m just not great at making clothing from scratch 😉
