Can we just take time to appreciate Chen and Xiumin for a while. Chinese have very difficult pronunciations and a different way of stressing the word can make it mean something completely different. The fact that both xiumin and chen sang chinese is amazing enough. Their pronunciation may not be perfect but its good.
I think you're talking about tones here? Chinese is a tonal language (it has four), so yeah how you stress a work makes it mean something different. However, sung Chinese isn't tonal, that is to say, tones don't matter in song since notes and melodies make it hard to tell how a word is being stressed outside of context. That's why all Chinese language music videos have subtitles.

My own opinion: First, Popularity and achievements are from their fans. You streamed their songs multiple times, watched their mvs and buy their albums. Meanwhile, we don't care about any of that. Yes, we do care about our faves achievements and we do try to make them win by voting but not to the point that we're going to waste our time watching the same my for an hour or so. They don't force us too. They remind us that we have a life aside from them. Second, recognition is also based on popularity. My faves get recognised because of their talents. Their vocals, their sense of style, their versatile acting, their dance styles. They have a life beside shitloads of comebacks and our faves can stand alone without the help of their members. For example: EXO Baekhyun could be BYUN BAEKHYUN as a soloist, as an actor, a luxury brand ambassador. And I'm proud to say that this is what EXO taught us. We didn't have so many views in an my bcs they always remind us that we should focus on ourselves first or study first than watching their ig lives, them who always tell us to buy foods instead of alburns, and most especially having their own unique talent in their solo activities with us making us all proud as EXO-LS

One year ago when i first watch this video and i heard chen's voice, i was totally blown away ! since this day he became my ultimate bias, he's a nice guy and also a handsome man. watching this always get me nostalgic, i remember when i was used to admire him a lot ( and write his name everywhere in my copybooks ). i still support him but the first days when i started to like him were really the best memories. One year ago when i first watch this video and i heard chen's voice, i was totally blown away ! since this day he became my ultimate bias, he's a nice guy and also a handsome man. watching this always get me nostalgic, i remember when i was used to admire him a lot ( and write his name everywhere in my copybooks ). i still support him but the first days when i started to like him were really the best memories.
