  • In this week's photography tutorial I show an easy perspective blend trick I use to create a powerful seascape image that combines a wide-angle view with a more prominent, zoomed-in subject. I take two images on location and I show how easy it is to blend the two focal lengths together in Photoshop using layers and masks.
I also show a more minimalist image using black and white and long exposure techniques.

Great technique demonstration. As far as I'm concerned, you snapped 2 pictures and portrayed the better parts of both into one image. Something everyone at some point felt that way and would love to know how to do. And I would welcome more videos like that. Thanks for sharing.

I learnt today that instead of using your brush to reveal part of an image in compositing you can use the gradient tool! Thank you Andrew!!

Thanks Andrew. Fascinating use of the tools in LR and PS. You have convinced me to find a LR and PS class so I can learn more about these programs. I’ve learned a lot watching your videos but I think I want to learn faster. Hey. I did want to say how sad I was to read about the horrible vandalism that occurred last night to the Sycamore Gap tree. Not sure what exactly has to happen to a person to make them capable of doing something so irrationally disgusting. We have some very old trees here, some that were here during the founding of this nation, and if someone did that to any one of them, they’d spend some time in prison. I hope those responsible are properly punished. ❤️

Magnificent! This video of yours covers so many things: long exposure photography, composition, post processing and compositing - all of them explained clearly yet thoroughly. And the final result is splendid. Bravo🥇🥇Just one question or suggestion: why go back to LR when you can use ACR inside PS?

Any idea why bottom right of the shot was weirdly bright? Was your ND out of place somehow?

Great technique. I like the artistic side of photography, not the documentary purism.
