This particular rendition of Shree & ones of the many others sung by Panditji is the closest thing that touches the Almighty God. What "Upaj" , what " Layakari " , this is beyond sublime ! Saadar Pranam to the Maestro ! 🙏🙏🙏
What a breathtaking display of Shree Raga ! I am amazed. No words. It fulfills your desire for this raga to the fullest. It is supposed to be a prayer to Lakshmi. An evening raga when the spirits are said to be active. It also to be noted that worship of Shree is worship of Lakshmi. Of the three manifestation of Shakti, this is unpredictable and hence one needs to pray. The other forms are Saraswati which is mild as she is the goddess of knowledge. Durga is meant for slaying of bad powers and hence her form is benevolent. Shree i.e. Lakshmi can be both bad and good in earning as well as spending. Hence prayer is needed by way of listening or singing of Shree raga so as to follow proper path in earning as well as spending. --Based on Deepak Raja's interpretation.
At some point of time in future if it comes to give ratings to renditions in terms of bhava they express, this rendition will surely be among the top few. It brings out powerful emotions from a serious listener. Very few rendition even by top master do it the way Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur.'s rendition achieves.

If God had a favorite Raag, it might be Raag Shree and rendered through Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur's voice.

Correct. He had used head voice at different junctures (at 10.30 mins I have noticed once). Good observation.
