Best (and most horrfying) WoW Vanilla mind control memory: When I got mind controlled, then the boss decided that my druid really needed to be in Moonglade. Needless to say, we wiped.
After Neltharion's madness overtook him and the rest of the black dragonflight, the newly disfigured Deathwing attempted to mate with his consorts, causing Sintharia a great deal of pain and leaving behind scars and burn marks. Sintharia was the only mate known to have survived. "lol dragon rape"
He even has a monk and demon hunter counter now, too. Monks uncontrollably roll around and demon hunters are completely blinded with a black screen unless they use spectral sight.
Can't forget that priceless Warlock Voidwalker bomb trolling at the AH. 1. Get the bomb from Geddon on your VW, dismiss the VW. 2. Head to highlight populated area (usually the Auction House). 3. Summon your Voidwalker. 4. ??? 5. Profit like the evil troll you are.
+Daniel Reader I used to do that at the xroads with my Horde Warlock in TBC. Summon it right in the middle (where xroads demons are summoned in myth) and then banish it. Because attacks against it while banished generated still hate, it would then start attacking all the guards and lowbies when the banish ended. I used to do that and then relog to a lowbie I had at the tavern there and join in with all the confused people thinking it was a rare mob and trying to kill it. Lol. That old Doomguard was a badass, I remember that thing killing other level 70 players who tried to gank it there in the early days. Once they started gearing though, this happened less and less.
They should make a boss that instakills the player dealing the lowest dps every 2 minutes. Imagine the panic! It would be like the WoW hunger games or something.
I would make a boss that would mind control an entire raid with a twist to it... it wouldn´t be him who would control players but other players from same raid so it would be entirely possible for DPS player to be randomly given mind control over main tank while real main tank would gain control over another random person, for example another dps and that person would gain control over random healer which would gain control over you etc. etc. :D Ppl who never played paladin would suddenly be main healers or tanks :D spells and shit, everything :D
+lamebubblesflysohigh How about reversing all the controls, w is back, s is forward etc, and it even scrambles your moves so you have keybinds goining to random moves and the move bar on screen is even changed.
I remember when a raid on Geddon would have a lock and clickers on standby at the Ironforge auction house...and then summoning the living bomb... a lot of lowbies were killed that day until a hotfix came out
Doom Lord Kazzak was by far the most trolly boss in WoW history. Other guilds in your faction, along with guilds in the other faction, would sent a couple guys to Kazzak just to die to him and screw your attempt. Guilds in classic were extremely competitive, and there was less loot in a 40 man raid than there is today in even 10 man raids. So this guy was a huge kill, and the entire server was against you. This guy could even be kited all the way to Stormwind where the only thing that could end his terror, was a server reset. Hilarious.
Fighting the Blood Lord and him "dinging" was truely a nice fun play by Blizz. Though having a random character run up to you after you've been farming for 3 hours in Tanris and then holding up a random colored object and asking what color it was was easily the greatest Blizz in game interaction I ever had. It was only months later I would realize this very strange encounter was a bot check by a GM...
+SlayerZaraki It's already revealed...The Demon hunters get a black screen for a short duration, as if they had their eyes covered or something...( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Geddon's back. Back again. Tell a friend, because Geddon's Back. To troll LFR. Might only be for a short while. But LFR40 Molten Core... with Geddon. You're the Bomb.
it's worth mentioning that the Nefarion is still a troll boss to this day. I've never laughed harder at anything in WoW than when I saw I actually had the "_______ slayer of stupid, disappointing, and incompetent minions" (I'm pretty sure that's the title)
I remember soloing him as a monk for the first time not too long back, every couple of minutes he would just send me rolling across the map with a quote like "Monks and your rolling, doesn't it ever make you dizzy?"
Another way to troll nubs in today's time, Mogu Shan Vaults, pre-Elegon spawning, Tell the raid this, "lol, I've heard that Blizzard actually had to put an invisible wall over the hole so people would stop dying before the fight." Priceless.
This is what I like to see. A guy saying how sometimes, wiping can be hilarious and should be laughed at. One of the reasons I gave WoW up for a while was because some people played it like they were trying to make a living off it. It's a game, and should be enjoyed, not stressed over. :)
O'mrogg also had a bit of a hilarious mechanic that would nail inexperienced players trying to get an edge in beating the clock. At first it fully appears you can skip him, so why not kill Kargath first and then go back for O'mrogg later? Of course, as soon as you engage Kargath, O'mrogg joins the fight if you skipped him.
One thing you forgot to mention about Neferian... ..he gets updated every time a new class is added! Seriously Death Knights and Monks have their own unique screw over mechanics. With DKs he uses Deathgrip on the entire raid and with Monks they're forced to roll uncontrollably for five seconds. Sadly you will unlikely see these class calls since he can be solo'd by a level 90 with ease. Also the moment I heard "TIME FOR FUN!" a massive grin went across my face. However there was one thing that my class had that every other class didn't... Beast Master Hunters back then could become immune to all forms of crowd control for 10 seconds with the Bestial Wrath/Beast Within talent combo (which got heavily nerfed later on). Yeah it only worked for the first time he did it since it'd be on cooldown during his second call. It was kind of hilarious if it came off cooldown while MC'd because the boss would derp and trigger it, removing the MC.
Vanilla Onyxia was a huge troll boss for me because I played a priest. Some background is needed here. At the time, priests typically put 20 or 21 points in the Discipline tree, which meant choosing between increased wand damage (lol) or a 15% chance to resist fear. Seems like an obvious choice, right? But, as I found to my sorrow, that meant a decent chance of wiping the raid. See, in Onyxia's phase 3, the tanks would back up against the wall with the rest of the raid on either side of her so they would not get hit by her breath attack, because it would kill anyone not geared to take it (ie. not a tank.) Periodically she would cast fear on the entire raid, everyone would run in circles for a bit, and she'd go back to smacking the tank. UNLESS... someone managed the resist the fear. Someone like a certain squishy priest. In which case she would turn and breathe fire and kill that half of the raid. I wasn't really blamed for it (the guild mostly blamed the encounter mechanics, as this was far from the only problem) but after the 4th or 5th time it pissed me off enough to go and spec into that increased wand damage (lol) just so I wouldn't have to deal with that shit anymore.
The truth is that in first times World of Warcraft the most troll boss was this one which gave to everyone Corrupted Blood buff, because everyone who left dungeon with this buff he still had this and gave this buff to players next to them. Low lvl players died instantly fast :) Best troll boss ever.
Watched quite a few of yours vids, havent played wow at all since lvl 80 was the caps, thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane :) Very enjoyable to watch even for a guy thats been out of the loop for 3-4 years or something right now
I've sat and watched all your videos this morning, reminiscing my old WoW days and chuckling at the truth and honesty you come out with. Thanks for making my day, Preacher!
At least in WoD we got some amusing bosses again with Hans & Franz and Oregorger. The brothers was an amazingly goofy dodge fight that was a blast and you always laughed at your own stupid ass if you died, while Oregorger was Pac-Man: The Raid Boss.
speaking of trolly bosses , the emperors in AQ were troll as fck , they'd randomly switch targets and heal when they come next to each other, not to mention the teleports every 30-40 seconds , also one was immune to physical , the other to magic damage , so u had to swap shit all the time , and move whenever they teleport to each other , not to mention the magic one had had to be tanked by a warlock , so chaos ensued when they teleported :D
i miss Vaelastrasz... that guy was trolling big time. Especially when you were able to instant tp with the bomb to Ironforge and blow the whole tavern up.
i think the ONLY thing i miss from Classic wow is just it was the new shiny it was the new mmo and yeah blizzard probably didn't think it would become this mmo phenomena that gets different generations of players playing it. but that is probably what i miss about it, when WoW was the new kid on the block it was the new mmo and we had no idea where it was gonna go and how we were gonna get there. the game as an actual game has gotten WAY better since classic but that brand new feeling is probably what i miss the most Thank you for the memories blizzard and for hopefully the new and great ones up coming in WoD :D
I remember trolling our guild leader so hard on Nefarion back in those days. Every time the priest call would go out, all us priests would start spamming heals on him. Well, this was after BWL was on farm of course.
I personally HATE raiding :P way to long, boring and just seems to have no decent reward. So you get gear at the hardest raid in game so you can do what? Example: you get soO gear so you can do what? You have already done soO so there's no point for raid gear :P PVP MASTER RACE!
Pvp isn't shit. It's where dps classes actually have fun. The wow pvp experience is fantastic! It is so competitive and fun, and it requires REAL skill and fast thinking. Raiding is just stupid in my opinion.
Smoothfeet Raiding is all about learning the fights and being able to pass it every week. It also requires skill and fast thinking only the enemies are larger and have more hp, last longer and you get to be cooperative with 9 or 24 other people which attracts a lot of people. Your last sentence suggests anyone braindead can raid, which is definetly not the case out of lfr
Even though Nefarian was a mega pain in the butt... it was truly an amazing feeling when you finally take him down after that full 20-30 minutes of engaging him. Nefarian and Razorgore were by far my favorite boss encounters in Blackwing Lair, just due to the sheer insanity of the fight, as well as the exhiliration of finally getting your first kill after weeks or months of attempts.
So, I went to the wiki to check out what the class call did for all classes, turns out demon hunter is already on the page and it says that their screen turns black. That's just great.
In cata, the Stonewrought Dam in Loch Modan was also a troll by Blizzard. You'd see the slope going down to the ravine and think, I can totally slide down there. Then you realize the slope is just too steep to stop and slightly too high to survive, as you slide into a pile of hundreds of skeletons of people who thought the same thing on Cata launch week.
We might be getting some of the troll back looking at new bosses in ToT. Look at council fight, one of the trolls is Blanka from street fighter. Green, red hair, rolling around and crouched lightning attack.
I've watched almost all your videos and love them! Want to see more. You are super fun to listen to. My favorite is the vanilla wow pvp :D Epic Epic! Want to see more more!!
Everyday i look forward to another one of your videos preach! your content just brings a smile to my face making my day more enjoyable, and for that i thank you. keep doin what your doin mike!
Ah good old Barron Geddon. Getting his debuff on pets before dismissing them and then resummoning them in the auction house, bank or at the mailbox was freaking hilarious. I liked that mind controlling ogre boss as well, a fun thing with him is that if you are fighting solo and he triggers it, other mobs will spawn and attack you to prevent the encounter from resetting and you can deal them crushing blows while under it's effects.
Lich King is also a trolling boss. Avoiding falling to your death or being outright killed, and finally get to 10% health, he 1-shots the whole raid at once. He then proceeds to make you and your group into undead champions. The worse part is that you CAN release during this part. Oh the fun with that one.
Can anyone tell me: Are druid bear tanks still the best tanks in the game ? (In terms of their insane amount of Armor and ability to take so much damage, whereas a warrior tank would have less armor and therefore suffer more spike damage.
Blackwing Lair remains the king of fun boss encounters in WoW. The sheer number of crazy mechanics even before Nefarion were hilarious. Of course, I never made it into Naxx, but BWL and the darn suppression chambers (with bonus trying to stack in one corner to rez the fallen!) was just so unique.
Half the bosses in BWL were faceroll easy. We were only challenged on Raz, Vael, Chrom, and Nef. The 3 bosses between Vael and Chrom we killed on one night, after our first Vael kill.
I miss Nefarian and other troll boss. Yes the member you played the sound clip "Time for Fun." I was rofl. Just remember how much fun it was. This was a great list. I remember them all and was grinning the whole time watching it. I still wish we could get a Nefarian fight again. Yes it took a long time but I found it to be so much fun.
could you make video of massive alliance vs horde faction fights?? I joined wow like 2 years ago nvr really experienced massive fights..I asked and created threads in forums but they told me I was silly and newbie :(
At first I think this was a long forgotten video I recently uncovered before I realised you've just upgraded all the thumbnails and I've seen it before. Trolled.
I'm only now exploring the WoW side of TH-cam and I cannot believe I missed the golden era of WoW banter due to adolescence (I was a teenager when this came out so my WoW enthusiasm wasn't..high). This was very entertaining despite it being made years ago. Thank you. Edit: LOOOOOOOL "it was lag mate"
I was waiting for you to mention Teron Gorefiend. That boss put people on the spot just as much as baron geddon and some people for some reason just COULD NOT figure out the ghost kiting mechanic.
I think they Added new class calls as they came out too. I tried killing Nefarian on my monk, he has a monk call, and it makes you roll around like an idiot, The demon hunter one turns the screen black, and you are blinded for the rest of the encounter lol, just looked it up in a video
When i had a level 70 hunter at the time it was level cap you could still get into ZG and do the original raid, i got into several pugs somehow and it was memorable.
I used to tank H Shattered Halls on my druid back when swipe only hit 3 targets. I haven't tanked anything since LK. Why am I nervous to tank now? It can't be harder than H SH right?
you forgot the biggest most important part of the Neffy fight. the point where he spawns 100 skeletons to his aid, problem was that many people back in those days did not have a super computer, and some not quite 100% up to the task to calculate all those skeletons spawning, which made those ppl lag for 30+ seconds or even have a computer crash ( reboot required ) because of that
The point was people would engage to see what colored drakes he'd spawn, and the reset timer was long. Repairs actually being expensive in vanilla (and also having no repair bots meaning you have to run back to Thorium Point to repair at a neutral vendor) meant avoiding death was kind of important.
Man i salute you, for taking me to a trip down memory lane. Mandokir wasn't a prob for us back in the day as most guilds bug the raptor by having a healer grab threat and jumping of the stairs onto the little platform on the right and forever healing. Nonetheless those dungeon bosses in TBC were my top troll boss aswell.
Blackheart- first thing he did when he MC'ed me was pop every cooldown I had. Fortunately two of them were Last Stand and Shield Wall, so the DPS didn't kill me.
on the first boss you could also get the bomb on your pet and if you dismissed it while it have the debuff it will stil have it when you summon your pet (in a place like AH) and blow everyone up
I have an idea for a boss: the boss would be in a raid that for some reason is 40 man even though they got rid of those kinds of raids. The whole raid would play as normal, until you got to the boss. And realize that it's an turn based boss. With 40 people.
I'd say Loatheb (Naxx 40) was the MOST trolly fight ever to be designed. Almost no healing, natural resistance with req lvl 35, farm shadow protection pots (ghost muhrooms are in ... scarlet monastery). Farm 40 shards per attempt. Solid 4-5hours to farm stuff for maybe 7-8 attempts. And shard farming in the middle of raid for healthstones. Vael and tank switching was pretty painfull. And other threat resetting fights. Not to forget OVERAGGROING was possible.
Best (and most horrfying) WoW Vanilla mind control memory: When I got mind controlled, then the boss decided that my druid really needed to be in Moonglade.
Needless to say, we wiped.
+AoiKaze2000 Correction. THEY wiped. You were quite safe on the entirely wrong side of the planet. :)
I found that FAAAAAAR too funny. Good choice of words used.
moonglade is an important place tho o.o
thats fucking hilarious
that's too funny!
HAHAHAHAHA oh god When that happiend General chat filled up with WTF!?!?
Warlocks got to do a hell of a lot of trolling in vanilla, unbound minions being let loose in goldshire was always a favorite to watch
Daniel Reader i was a victim of that lol ^_- the good old days
A
+Daniel Reader I used to do that at the xroads with my Horde Warlock in TBC. Summon it right in the middle (where xroads demons are summoned in myth) and then banish it. They should make a boss that instakills the player dealing the lowest dps every 2 minutes. Imagine the panic! It would be like the WoW hunger games or something.
Lol the worst healers or the priests you brought JUST for healing would literally cry I would love it xD
Sarosusiel It would have to be a 40 man boss for that to be Viable.
Also, it would make it more hilarious! xD
nono in 40 man mode it's once per minute. I want suffering!
That would be genuinely awesome.
Sarosusiel the healers would die first, then the dds and then the tanks :/
I would make a boss that would mind control an entire raid with a twist to it... it wouldn´t be him who would control players but other players from same raid so it would be entirely possible for DPS player to be randomly given mind control over main tank while real main tank would gain control over another random person, for example another dps and that person would gain control over random healer which would gain control over you etc. etc. :D Ppl who never played paladin would suddenly be main healers or tanks :D spells and shit, everything :D
+lamebubblesflysohigh ......Dear god that's insane...I would play the fuck out of that encounter.
+lamebubblesflysohigh or a boss that screws with your keybinds ^^
+lamebubblesflysohigh How about reversing all the controls, w is back, s is forward etc, and it even scrambles your moves so you have keybinds goining to random moves and the move bar on screen is even changed.
That would be awesome, especially if there was moving fire on the ground :D
+lamebubblesflysohigh that is... AMAZING. BLIZZARD PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN
I remember when a raid on Geddon would have a lock and clickers on standby at the Ironforge auction house...and then summoning the living bomb... a lot of lowbies were killed that day until a hotfix came out

Disappointment at its finest.
Ten bucks old Nefarian will get some kind of Demon Hunter mechanic. "You are not prepared!" Suddenly the eye lasers the demon hunters.
+SlayerZaraki It's already revealed...The Demon hunters get a black screen for a short duration, as if they had their eyes covered or something...( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
*****
I really hope you aren't pulling my leg. That's quite comical.
SlayerZaraki /watch?v=LDQkQ0-sJFQ
***** Ahahahaha. Victory.
He makes Demon Hunters actually blind.
Geddon's back. Back again. Tell a friend, because Geddon's Back. To troll LFR.
Might only be for a short while.
But LFR40 Molten Core...
with Geddon.
You're the Bomb.
it's worth mentioning that the Nefarion is still a troll boss to this day. I've never laughed harder at anything in WoW than when I saw I actually had the "_______ slayer of stupid, disappointing, and incompetent minions"

Ha yeah, and the biggest troll is THE TITLE GOES AWAY WHEN YOU LEAVE THE RAID! Epic blizz troll.
***** :s weird, I did the raid with my friend and once we left it dissapeared :s
r2darky
Really? When it did it for a transmog run the title stuck with me for about 30mins. And was present as a debuff :/ even outside the instance.
Joe B Weird, well Iguess it might've just been bugged, I haven't been there sinse I last went there lol.
r2darky the title is a 30min buff ^^
Original netharion was awesome. I loved the idea of a boss having class specific insults for some reason.
I remember soloing him as a monk for the first time not too long back, every couple of minutes he would just send me rolling across the map with a quote like "Monks and your rolling, doesn't it ever make you dizzy?"
DanMarston117 Really? XD
Neltharion is Deathwing. Nefarian is Deathwings son.
Another way to troll nubs in today's time, Mogu Shan Vaults, pre-Elegon spawning, Tell the raid this, "lol, I've heard that Blizzard actually had to put an invisible wall over the hole so people would stop dying before the fight."
Priceless.
Gotta try that
I do this all the time, lol. "Oh weird, there's an invisible wall right here" [half the raid jumps]
This is what I like to see. A guy saying how sometimes, wiping can be hilarious and should be laughed at. One of the reasons I gave WoW up for a while was because some people played it like they were trying to make a living off it. It's a game, and should be enjoyed, not stressed over. :)

I have this idea.
why not make a Boss fight where the Boss Bribes you into killing your own teammates in exchange for epic gear?
javelinmaster2 then guilds farm the boss happily until everybody is bis before they kill it?
@@Cornincarnate This counter point years later makes my heart swell in enjoyment.
One thing you forgot to mention about Neferian...

Vanilla Onyxia was a huge troll boss for me because I played a priest.
Some background is needed here. At the time, priests typically put 20 or 21 points in the Discipline tree, which meant choosing between increased wand damage (lol) or a 15% chance to resist fear. Why didn't you just use fear wand like you were supposed to do? lol
A. Hardly anyone used Fear Ward because B. Only dwarves had it and C. Those rare dwarf priests used it on the tanks. Lol.
If the tank is fearwarded then he holds aggro after fear :)

I start watching these videos of yours, and i can't stop. I just love em!
Isn't twilight slicer the same thing as the chain mechanics you see in Gorefiend and Xhul, or Archi's focused chaos?
+Big Isaac no
"Warriors, I know you can hit harder than that!" that quote will always be in my mind lol.
What's the UI used on the Sinestra part of the video? That looks pretty good for tanking.
What's the name of the soundtrack/music that plays in the background, through most of the video?
This man is my favorite stuff you do the top 5 series is just awesome ! :D
Can anyone tell me: Are druid bear tanks still the best tanks in the game ? (In terms of their insane amount of Armor and ability to take so much damage, whereas a warrior tank would have less armor and therefore suffer more spike damage.
Meh one of the lower tier in my opinion
+Nikolai Kalashnikov Not really, warrior is probably the best
Atm guardian tanks are at nr 1
seplop Lol no Blood dk tanks are the best
Uros Popovic prot warriors ret paladins and guardian druids all top a blood dk in pve.
i was hoping you would include the timed lightning gauntlet in heroic deadmines.
What's the music you play all the time in this video? It sounds like something from pokemon dungeon.. I love it please tell me :D
I miss Nefarian and other troll boss. Yes the member you played the sound clip "Time for Fun." I was rofl. Just remember how much fun it was. This was a great list. I remember them all and was grinning the whole time watching it. I still wish we could get a Nefarian fight again. Yes it took a long time but I found it to be so much fun.
what is the music at 1:30?
So what's that background music called he uses in his top 5 lists?
0:27 is that a game cube controller?
Yes it is, my friend. Yes it is.
could you make video of massive alliance vs horde faction fights?? I joined wow like 2 years ago nvr really experienced massive fights..I asked and created threads in forums but they told me I was silly and newbie :(
what is the name of the ui around 11:00 minutes and where can I get it?
It's bartender
Could somebody tell me the UI at 9:55 please? Looks so clean and nice :3 Thanks!
Your videos just get better and better, good shit
I think they Added new class calls as they came out too. I tried killing Nefarian on my monk, he has a monk call, and it makes you roll around like an idiot, The demon hunter one turns the screen black, and you are blinded for the rest of the encounter lol, just looked it up in a video
When i had a level 70 hunter at the time it was level cap you could still get into ZG and do the original raid, i got into several pugs somehow and it was memorable.
Am i the only one missing Opera event from Kharazan in here?
Good video again Preachy.
Looking forward to the next ones!
I used to tank H Shattered Halls on my druid back when swipe only hit 3 targets. I haven't tanked anything since LK. Why am I nervous to tank now? It can't be harder than H SH right?
7:28 THAT HP/MANA addon thing I want it NOW PLS tell me what it is >X(
Did I hear kargath bladefist at 6:10 ? Isn't he an orc in WoD lol!!
All of the bosses in WoD are/were also bosses in the Burning Crusade, you can think of WoD as seeing them in their hay-day
are you fucking serious? When did you start playing wow if you don't even know that -.-
wowreaper Sorry i've been seeing kargath bladefist as an orc...and with one head lol
Kargath was an orc in BC too, you're seeing O'mrogg in the video, as was said.
you forgot the biggest most important part of the Neffy fight. the point where he spawns 100 skeletons to his aid, problem was that many people back in those days did not have a super computer, and some not quite 100% up to the task to calculate all those skeletons spawning, which made those ppl lag for 30+ seconds or even have a computer crash ( reboot required ) because of that
wasnt there a boss which could make druids use their spell teleport to moonglade via mind control?
Love your PC case, I miss my CM Storm Scout!!! I had to upgrade due to GPU card size!
Nefarian is pure gold with gifting you the temporary title "Slayer of Stupid, Useless and Disappointing Minions"
Fortunately two of them were Last Stand and Shield Wall, so the DPS didn't kill me.
didn't get the last one, was the problem the death run or repairs?
I like the new style , looks much more professional ! keep up the good work
did they ever add anything to netherian for monks?
The 2 priority spells to be used when MC'd in Auchindoun in wod on a frost mage are
- Icy Veins
-Illusion
preach i dont see how you dont have a billion views yet, youre amazing and extremely funny
What was the UI addon for #4
What about Viscidus in AQ40? He's pretty troll.
on the first boss you could also get the bomb on your pet and if you dismissed it while it have the debuff it will stil have it when you summon your pet (in a place like AH) and blow everyone up
Omg! I had totally forgotten about Nefarian. You're right, that fight was very much a troll. Fun though.
