Awesome gameplay as usual. I love seeing shard spiral, didn't know about the combo with comet. Would love to see some magic glintblades as well cause you can kinda layer them with other attacks.
Last week I started a mage playthrough to try out the new patch. Got towards the end of the game, around 60 hours, but then I kept seeing your pyro PvP videos and I'm like alright.. reroll time. Now I'm again towards the end of the game on my Pyro.. and you do this. You monster.
@@1IGG Nah, I made both characters to min/max stats. They'd both have several wasted points. Plus I'm already nearly done with both, so way too late for that. It's okay though, won't have to worry about running out of respecs when I can just swap characters.
Agree with the other commenters: the wholesomeness of your invasions is definitely a highlight. That and your upbeat commentary. Loving the caster build videos, I hope you can tackle some others too, like Beast Incantations, Dragon Cult and Dragon Communion. Particularly hope you'll tackle beast, cuz I struggle to make that one work and if there's anyone that can make it work, its probably you XD

Loretta's Mastery is also an interesting sorcery for invasions. Has great range and damage, and can make insane curves if you face away from the enemy. Not that great for 1v1 situations because of the charge time and cast speed, but good for confusing multiple opponents by quickly switching your lock-on
So I run a purr "cleric" build its holy weapons w faith spells. the main ones are catch flame, bestial sling, flame of frenzy, frenzied burst, and giants flame take thee. The play is dual swords. Go with the lordsworns straight sword, with sacred order(aow) in the left hand. Then the coded sword in your main hand. The damage is actually kinda nuts. You can swap away from swords to dw seals as well
Could add gravity stone fans to it to give you a nice, difficult to dodge AOE that can be combod with the melee spells, a shard spiral cast beforehand, or regal scepter's spinning weapon, excellent for aggressive ganks, smaller rooms, hallways.
Why the carian Glintstone staff instead of the Carian Regal scepter? The latter is better in every way with 80 int? Is it just for boosting sword sorceries when you cast with Lusat, because casting with it directly would still be inferior than casting directly with the Regal Scepter, regardless of the 15 percent sword sorcery dmg increase. I’m guessing it’s the former. 2:46 Oh. :/ I should really stop doubting Chase.

If you ever try out a lower level mage again, try out Night Maiden's Mist. Its really underrated and can be incredibly powerful if used right, but its damage does not scale so it gets pretty weak at higher levels.
Old video I know. But you can get tons of damage off regal staffs spinning weapon. Little bit of a wind up but it stun locks for a good 1200-1500 damage.
I've been trying to make an Aberrant Arcane Spellblade, using Thorn magic, and just enough faith to cast most of the Giantflame spells to go with it. Use the albinauric staff for the arcane scaling along with the Dragon Communion staff. Trying to make the Thorn spells work is hard, but it looks so damn cool that it is worth it. Been trying to think of ways to refine it. I went with arcane because I do enjoy using stuff like the Bloody Helix. It's medium roll low poise fashion-centric build.
This game being a mage feels completely different to me then all the other souls games. That being sad I’m currently running a suede hybrid build with 25 faith and 77 intelligence with the gelmir staff in off hand as a pyro mage build using Ancient Rancor and Rykards Rancor for pressure and other fire spells for burst. Ancient death rancor staggers so if just one hits you I can usually get some follow up dmg really nicely. Can’t wait for 6 man pvp with other teammates being a caster ain’t too bad
The headpiece for stats is rarely worth it, usually i find the ammount you save on endurance by just going without a helm will be about the same as you gain from the headpiece, but that's mostly with fast roll. Might be different for mid roll
What a coincidence…I literally made an 80 int (with flask) mage at 125 like 2 or 3 days ago 😂 I lose out on 2 points of optimization for picking Wretch over Astrologer, but i get Dual Lordsworn SS and Dual Short Spears as a PvE/PvP backup. Doing 630 AR with those bad boys pre flask😳

Chase you can jump with the swift GlintStone it's a faster cast and it stops the estus before they chug

Something very fun to do as a mage, is to use magic glintblade 3 times, then charge up collapsing stars.
