You told this in a way that was akin to being in the car at those speeds. A lot of information all in one go but not hard to follow. You clearly never lose the instinct and your passion for the positive experiences is obvious in the way you tell your tales. The smile on your face when talking about handling a machine at those speeds, your level of training, I dont think people realize that interceptors in particular get that level of intensive training. Amazing stuff as ever Ben! I look forward to these all week, you never fall short!

Mate seriously respect what you’ve done in order to protect the public and what you’ve suffered as a result. I think we will do a video on our channel soon outlining my past and my battle with complex ptsd as I feel we need more awareness. The things policemen and women see and experience on duty is immensely traumatic and I don’t feel you get the correct support for it or if so not enough of it. And IMO your proof of this. I’m just so happy to see you’ve made the journey out the other side. I know things are never the same and you never fully recover but what an improve, ent we have both made ❤️

Brilliant! Really interesting hearing about all the things you need to do in the car, and the technical side etc. When I was a kid I used to watch Police Camer Action and I'd always be commenting on the behaviour of the car, understeer, balance, throttle control, etc. In a different life, I'd be a traffic cop, but I went motorsports instead. Would love it if you could get a bit more in-depth about the cars.

A point you made in an earlier vid about the road surface has really stuck with me regards the quality of the roads in built up areas compared to motorways, and how all the pot holes/lumps and bumps make it a non-starter at high speed.

A lot of people talking about "going fast" mean going 65 in a 50 zone, coming up to a corner and going around that corner at 40 (That would be perfectly fine at 50 even in the rain) and then 65 or 70 on the straight again. That is not fast. That is speeding. Driving "fast" is being able to navigate corners at speed. Something that is most fun on a track.

2:40 THANK YOU for acknowledging this. I'm sure most police understand this too, say you're a biker cruising at 100mph on an empty motorway people lose their minds, say you're in a car doing 50 around tight country lanes in nationals "oh look how safe he is". Not using this as an excuse to speed but lets be honest, accidents are not caused by people trying to see what their vehicles can do on empty motorways, they come from complacent drivers flying down familiar roads where sometimes even the speed limit is too high.

Whilst riding my motor bike a guy blew though a red light and collected the vehicle next to me parked at the lights.
The guy in the rogue vehicle tried to escape and I tackled him to the ground and just sat on him until the Police arrived on scene. The Police Snr Constable growled at me for risking life and limb to which I replied that this is a once in a lifetime act however he placed his life on the line every shift.
Ben is a truly brilliant story teller. I wonder if Police members ever have their cortisol levels in their blood checked?

20 years ago I got pulled for a faulty break light. Cop had me sit in the back of his jam sandwich while he did his checks on my nova gsi and handed me my weekly producer . I watched him walk over to my car and replace the faulty bulb, comes back to the cop car "Reyt lad hop back in lets test it, There you go son on your way". Imagine that now? Thats why I bought LED brake light bulbs, they aint failing anytime soon. If any cops read this they are "E" approved and apparently road legal with an Extra long life expectancy 100million hours, should out see us all. So no pulling me right? quality bloke this guy, bet he used to carry spare bulbs.

It's interesting how the pursuit driving is similar to F1, you have to take care of the car, don't ruin the tyres, don't cook the brakes (reading this Ben ;-)) if it's getting long watch the fuel to give yourself a chance of catching them.

He's right on bout the fast pursuit being relative to location. I would take a 140 MPH chase on the freeway any day over an 65 on city streets, 80 on 2 lane blacktop and 50 on dirt or gravel.
