I too cry reflecting on this game..I was 7 when it came out & I played it until I was 11. We really are lucky to be born in the mid/late 90s for this game to be part of our childhood. Makes it that more special. Still my favourite game to this day. And forever.

The atmosphere, story, characters, and gameplay are so golden, props to the intelligent minds behind these games, especially WoH. I still remember this game being played by an older Cousin, it's such a good game, too bad I was a dumbass 5 - 8 year old when I would play it so I didn't know or understand the story much but certain characters stuck out to me as "badasses" like that one shirtless pale vampire looking guy, he was so awesome yet terrifying, also that one weirdo with like dual wielding pistols lmao. Fuck him, he was hard to beat I think. I wish I could go back to these times. Loading up a PS2 Disc oh man that was fun and so enjoyable. Now we got terrible games that are always shiny but unfinished, Shallow Oceans i like to call them.

Dude, honestly i grew up with this shit but i think there is nothing more perfect. They are capturing the spaghetti western feel of old hong kong movies and martial arts movies. Like in the 70's what other genre of movie would have disco in a setting that involved ancient Chinese history. I see it almost as an homage that was really populare in VG music and anime music at the time.
Some of these tracks are amazing and atmospheric. Some of them are just the most random collection of samples imaginable. Did I seriously just hear a 70s porno bass in a game about ninjas and black magic?
love this franchise and i wish they would make another with a mixture of WOH style of gameplay and Shadow Assassins and improve the story. that would be so cool
As much as I'm not a fan of Shadow Assassins I do think they should bring back the hidespots and stealth kills from any hidespot. AI should be improved also.

you ever been to the hidden marijuana leaf village? sounds dope but ninjiggas be trippin' over there. this clan called "Wu Tang".... they are giants with dark bronze skin and overactive chakras. they talk of the "chambers" and "chess boxing". next thing you know our wimminz go missing one by one. looks like you and i have a mission. oh yeah and tell ayame i said that ass is fine. mmmm damn. ill give up ramen for that pussy all night. but not in the day. LOL
If any of you are feeling nostalgic but want something fresh I'd advise checking out Mark of the Ninja. It can be found on steam. It's an incredibly fun stealth ninja game much like Tenchu in that in emphasizes stealth and silence over an incredibly aggressive approach.
Oh the Nostalgia I used to play this game for hours back in my high school days this and Tenchu Z are my favorite in the series wish From Software would bring this back instead of making games like Dark Souls

It brings back such fond memories... I really hate that level, especially as Ayame. With a timer forcing you to rush through the stage in both a stealth game & a level loaded with traps it would be painful enough. But to have to do the whole thing with two bosses, one that can drain your health, and another that will leave you screaming in rage by it's machine gun, have fun! The songs probably really good, but thanks to these past traumas for every attempt at doing this level, it's been bogged down like mad.
