1580 - HGBD GMIII Beam Master (OOB Review)

Here's the High-Grade 1/144 scale GMIII Beam Master. Yes, it's very orange. But other than that the design makes for a pretty cool super grunt suit! Pros and cons of a usual HG, but a fun kit.

I personally love my Beam Master, a unique GM design! Color too. Yeah the Changeling Rifle as how they want you to put it together doesnt look that great, I have mine tricked out with different barrels and blades in the back of them. (from the Changeling Rifle set of course). I'd change that weird screw in the backpack but dont have anything that really fits that ball joint.

I've always seen the knees for the BM to be very... 0083. The grey bit on top of the kneecap and just the overall rounded shape feel really GP01/GP03 inspired. I definitely agree with the side-binders not quite fitting the overall UC aesthetic, though it doesn't really bother me too much tbh (I preferred the missile pods on the sideskirts though)

I haven't watched Build Divers yet either lol. But this is interesting, I like GMIII in general. The clunky looking binders look like a last minute addition lol.

Don’t you know? The changeling rifle clearly is an homage to the ideon cannon! Also there is no such thing as too much orange.
But on a more serious note, having built the 00 gundam and gm3 the gm3 is a nice kit, but the 00 is muuuch better. I can see how their variants play out the same ways.

Nice build. As for HGBD: I like the designs of the gunplay, and the kits coming out. But the show... eehhhhh, its getting a little bit too fanboy now. I loved build fighters and build fighters try, but this shows storyline is getting a bit too childish, too "oooo, ahhhh!". But I admit it does fit the theme of the show, which is basically that the whole world is now virtual reality, and you can be/do what you want. Its just getting a bit ridiculous. The main character is being lauded by supposedly the greatest players as the second coming.I am secretly hoping, though, that Rommel is really Mr. Ral from the previous series.

They seem to be related, this is just may years later again. They play on the thing from the thelder shows in the first or second episode and I believe they even bring up plavski particles and seem to imply it's all antiquated technology...lol

Same as with anything else, but you’ll have to do it in a way to be able to remove or mask the face part for painting

Find it funny that the buster binder's cannon nozzle/barrel has an actual separate gray piece, when the knee caps and the top of the buster binders have stickers...?

Ya the weird thing is the knee caps are their own pieces too, theyre just on a white runner instead of the new gray one. It's actually quite baffling. I painted mine.

Very weird indeed... well they're pretty easy to paint given their separate parts, and the binder seems easy to mask. What I also noticed is that the barrel tips on the box art is orange, whereas the kit has s gray tip..

I like the cheese master's head design now that I've got a close up look at it. It always bothered me at first cause I couldn't make out its details. A different color scheme would really make the kit look better because again I feel a lot of details get lost with all that orange. I'd definitely try building the cheese master if I can get my hands on one.

Divers is actually a great Build series, definitely a huge improvement over Try Fighters.
Riku's use of an older GM III base kit is even given an in-universe explanation; The Beam Master was the first Custom he one an award with, thus it has sentimental value to him.

Build Divers is pretty skippable. So far it's definitely inferior to BF and BF Try, but at least the kits are fun.
I love the bright colors on this kit but I find that it really benefits from breaking up all that orange with some decals.

I didn't like the color, but I like the weapons. But the changeling rifle, needs to be customised. I like the extra parts too. But sadly, the colour is not my favourite. Anyway, its a cool kid though.👍

I don’t know what it is, but Build divers is kinda boring. I guess my expectations were a bit too high? Maybe? Who knows. There’s still more episodes coming so hopefully the series speeds up. Gotta hold out till the end.
