    Did you use a Middle & Neck Strat Pickup ( or Middle & Bridge I suppose ) for hum cancel when engaged together ??

    The stock Mustang has pickups with full plastic covers with no holes for the pickup poles. There was a reason they did this as the exposed poles can short out due to the Mustang's ability to have the pickups operate out of phase. Your hand or a string touching the exposed poles will do it. I found this out the hard way. Covered pickups in no way reduce the magnetic field or output. I'd switch out your covers back to stock. I've had my 76 Stang for 30-plus years and love them. cheers, M8!

      Sure, not saying I disagree.. but I just prefer to have my pickups low so they don't ever touch the strings.

      @@mfiles_official That would probably do the trick. Of course, the lower the pickup, the less output (volume) you'll get out of them. If you don't mind that, you're probably good. Cheers, M8!

      @@jeffmurdock8321 yeah I don't mind these fat 60s are overwound anyway.

      @@mfiles_official I've a '76 Stang and I heard they were underwound on purpose back then so the student would want to move up to the Strat. They were shot in mine when I got it back in 1992 and the covers were missing . I put in 5.9K neck and 6.4k bridge from a custom winder. It's a nice guitar like that. I had a treble bleed put on the volume pot to give it more bite at lower volumes and make it a bit less dark there. It's easy to reverse. They are a fun guitar. Hope you enjoy yours!

    • @mfiles_official
      @mfiles_official  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I'm splitting my channel in 2... One with videos in English Another where I do videos in Portuguese so basically I'm reuploaded in the ones I did in English into this new channel.

    Changing volume pots to make your pickups sound better? That's a new one. You've def been marketed to, and believe it. Be careful ya gull bull

      Well try it your self if you don't hear it you don't hear it. I do and I change in all my guitar that come with those cheap mini pots. Did for many others of my friend (no charge) and they also notice a diference. So its a choice but maybe you are better of without it because once you hear it you wont be able to go back. And if you do hear it just come here and let me know, maybe even apologize for you silly comment. LOL
