I love her voice. It has warmth and strength and full sound from low to high pitch with perfect control comes from great analysis of the character. And this character's story and song are very similar to her own life story. It makes me cry everytime when she sings this song
4:25 - 4:41 - Personally, I haven't heard anyone who sounded as open, warm and relaxed on the English equivalent of "It's meee/so if you care to find me." Also, I like the addition of the "w" on the final vocaliuzed "aaah" melisma. I don't think it would work for everyone who plays Elphie but she uses it as a nice springboard to dive into that final note stream. Lastly she looks like she's putting a lot of effort into this. Which for me means Elphie might be defying gravitry but working hard to make that happen.
It would be interesting to hear an English Elphaba do the WoAAA at the end
@@amazingstarzzJulia Murney used to do it more with a "y" sound, but that's it. I really wish more English speaking actresses would do it.

You don't need to understand a word to get music. That's the beauty of music. I have heard the song that many times that i just know what she is trying to tell us that i don't need to understand the language. She does do a great job tho. i wonder why youtube wanted me to see this
@@friezenfan It's an absolutely beautiful song in any language apparently. It gives me chills every time and I've heard it probably a few hundred times over the years and it never gets old, a true compositional masterpiece.
