Ive been off IG for over 2 years and mentally I feel better. I didn’t realize that it was part of the problem until I left.

This video has been sitting in my Watch Later videos for weeks. Today, I decided to watch some of the videos in that playlist because starting tommorrow I am doing a digital fast. I had no idea what this video was about when I saved it just did because because the struggle is real.
Interesting that God use this to confirm the digital fast because I was trying to decide if I should fast food or social media. To be honest, all of the channels I'm subscribed to are fine for me because I carefully pick them but it hit home when you mentioned the problem not being the content creators but within us.
That was my confirmation of this being a real problem cause I can look at channels I would never subscribe too and see something that triggers me. Not sure who said it but they said-to thine own self be true and truth starts with admitting there is a problem. I am going to tell on myself and admit that the whole time I watched this video I compared myself to you because for one that shirt killed it and you look so feminine & beautiful!
There was one other thing you mentioned that triggered me because I'm struggling with that area too but I dont feel comfortable mentioning but its a good starting point for me if I talk to a therapist ( I am team go to therapy all the way) or if I journal about it. Thank you for this video and admitting you dealt with this issue too and sharing your process to deal with it!

I just came across your page and I have had Bible study just watching this video. This was right on time because I have been feeling a way and comparing myself with other influencers. God knows what we need and when to give it to us. You now have a new follower.

Resonating with this completely! As a Christian and black person, I felt it was a slap in the face at God to consider therapy, but I feel it's a tool for what we go through naturally.
I spend time with my family every week for bible study and it's great spiritual help. But for some things I'm going through, I feel I need some natural help as well. I'm going for it! 😊

Just like we partner God + medical doctors for our healthcare, we can take the same approach for our mental wellness 🫶🏽 my therapist is a Black Christian Woman and we talk ALOT about God within my sessions. It helps a lot to connect the dots between spirituality & mental wellness.
