- The Leninopad took place after the 2014 Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine, following the shooting of the Heavenly Hundred Maidan protesters, and the corrupt neo-soviet President Yanukovich having fled Ukraine to Russia. During this time Ukraine finally undertook a policy of de-communization with the official dismantling of most of the remaining communist statues and re-naming of thousands of streets from the soviet past.

A de-communization process had taken place during the 1990s in western Ukraine, which was under communist occupation following WW2. The rest of Ukraine which had been under a communist dictatorship since around 1920 had the Marxist brainwashing more deeply embedded for several more generations. It began its de-communization process around 25 years after western Ukraine's reforms when that process reached the rest of the country. Had the rest of Ukraine been more proactive and reformed earlier - even in a slow, gradual process, it probably could have avoided an open conflict with Russia, but those reforms were blocked by communist elements in Ukraine for years who still held a lot of influence even after it became independent from the Soviet Union on Aug.24, 1991. Russian President Putin launched a full scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb.24, 2022, exactly 8 years after the Leninopad which started in late February 2014 as a popular movement, which was later co-opted by the government and turned into an official process. The last remaining Lenin statues and communist street names are in the areas of Ukraine currently occupied by Russia. Belarus and Russia have not yet begun major reforms since the fall of the Soviet Union and remain neo-communist regimes lacking democratic rights and freedoms for their citizens. Since the war with Ukraine, the regime in Russia has unfortunately regressed more towards a Stalinist style of dictatorship, with its leadership aligning itself more closely with North Korea and China - some of the last remaining communist dictatorships in the world. As those corrupt regimes try to hold on to power, they are facing economic collapses due to the broken ideology and false and impractical ideas of Marxism which lead such countries to self-destruction in the long term. The more they emphasize that ideology to stay in power, the more their economy falls, because it is against and contradictory to business and practical economic principles fundamentally. The only reason they remain is because of a powerful small entrenched party elite which benefits at the expense of the rest of the people who live in poverty and misery. They claim to rule "in the name of the people" who are often going hungry, but can only stay in power using widespread repression of the population, monopolizing the media and messaging.
