Thank you for all the videos they've been so helpful for me getting into punch needling and building my own carpet tack frame. One question I have is: how do you remove the felt after you've stapled it down?
I'm so glad you're finding them helpful! To get the felt off, I usually just pry the staples out with a screwdriver, and if they don't come out all the way, I'll use a pair of pliers. I hope this helps! Happy punching! Amy
The fine needle works well with worsted weight yarn, sock weight, baby weight, tapestry yarn, and needlepoint yarn. You should avoid yarn with lumps, hairy yarns, and yarns that are very slippery. You can also use #3 cut strips of fabric (I recommend using lightweight wool such a flannel). Embroidery floss doesn't work. I hope this helps! Amy
I use monk’s cloth that has 12-14 holes per inch. They make a monk’s cloth with 6-7 holes per inch but you want to avoid this! Your loops will fall out because the weave isn't tight enough for punching. I hope this helps! Amy
So helpful, doing it as the video goes 🙋🏻♀️
