I love how soldering works out on video I can never get mine to look this good
You can do it!
I wouldn't recommend the method in the video, it might work with leaded solder(not exactly up to par with today's standards), or some specialty solders but they are generally weaker in terms of longevity especially on a charging port (likely will become brittle in the near future and break). They also did not clean the old solder off, mixing alloys is practically guaranteed to fail.
The best method I found repairing laptops from a big brand warehouse is to remove the old connector with heat (kapton taping any heat sensitive or plastic components while not covering any smd components as they will shift). Then removing ALL solder especially from the through-hole joints via solder wick (adding additional solder initially will help conduct heat through the soldering iron). Using flux add solder to the tiny pads and add more flux. Then apply kapton tape around the bottom of the type c port after aligning the component (in a way to prevent heat from entering the port and melting the plastic). Heat from the bottom of PCB from a distance to warm the board, then bring the heat gun closer until the solder is wet. Immediately cut heat, solder through-hole joints and clean up.
The most delicate part is removing solder from the pads and is only particularly necessary if you are using a different alloy. Also you can save old heat shields or buy thin metal to cut and bend into heat shields, then add kapton tape to deflect hot air to save time and kapton tape if you're doing it constantly.
Use more flux, but not the trash cheapest option.
@@takentium7348 leaded solder IS the standard, used in medical and military equipment for it's durability and reliability. It's just consumers are force fed with shitty lead-free because companies needs our gadgets to actually break to suck money out of us. All repair shops are using leaded solder
Right! I melted the shiz out of my board and broke the charging control wire so It wouldn't charge fast anymore 😂 glad I had spares lol
The sheer steady hands working that soldering iron for those tiny, FUSSY little pins...clearly they know what they're doing with the EXPERIENCE and muscle memory to back it up.
thanks for watching 🌹
you are good person 😊
This kind of work doesn't require extremely steady hands. I used to have standard jobs but then I started soldering and my hands have become incredibly steady, but it's not necessary.
I used to have really shaky hands, but in a moments notice I can usually make them still and steady
You go to college to submit this review?
Your skills are under appreciated. I wish you the best.
Thank you very much!
The trick to doing this is magnification. If you have good optics on, when you look at it the entire thing looks like it’s the size of your workbench. Getting the little pins at that point becomes much easier
you are right 👍 😊
This music remind me of UFC one second knockout😂😂😂😂😂😂
😊🌹
are you sure 😊
They soldering just fine with hot air, if you prepare charging board and charging port properly. Maybe in russia is not possible, because I don't think you ever heard of HAKKO, JCB etc. Tools, and good quality flux, soldering wire.

U can see in his hands a lot of passion and hardwork, u have a long way man. ❤ From Poland
Thank you so much 😀
This is the real repair (maybe lil mic damage risk tho) because most of the repair shop keeper change the entire board with a local ones which start giving even more problems later on.. 😢
no
it's ok 😊
But you are right 👍
If i ly my soldering would stick to the contacts and not just fall or stick to the iron, i'd be happiest man alive😂
good 😊 🌹
You’re not getting it hot enough and flux is mandatory
Just change the whole board. It’s a great work, but it needs more time then just to change the board.
ok you are right 👍
you are right 👍
not always
Nice!
I had to do this a while ago on my old Samsung Note 3, the 3rd party replacement board was giving me signal issues (it had connectors and antenna cables passed through traces on the PCB) in the end I transplanted the micro USB 3 port from the 3rd party board to the original and all was well again.
thanks for watching 🌹
good work 😊
I will say one thing. These types of connectors are best heated from the underside of the board, not directly as shown here. If you don’t, you risk damaging the plastics contained in it.
The temperature is right, that's okay.
Nice tutorial thank you
Glad you liked it
GOTTA LIKE THE MAGNETIC PCB HOLDING THINGYS!
yes it's very good 👍
@@techshowmobilewhere did you get it, or did you make it?
thanks for watching 😊
I like the way you solder but you forget to protect mic by using flux
thanks for watching 🌹
sure 🫡
tested next video 😊
thanks for watching 🌹

😊🌹
@@techshowmobile 🤡
Good work, but would be better if you put the flux on the board not the connector...
ok 👍🌹
yes you are right 👍
Nice work, kindly share name of the song too, thanks
thanks for watching 🌹 🌹 🌹

thanks for watching 🌹 🌹 🌹
Talvez uma limpeza descente resolveria o problema. Mas ficou top
👍
Thanks for watching 🌹
Name the holder link plz
Second this, What are these holders called? Screw my helping handa
Yeah, I need to know
They are magnetic so can be placed anywhere that suits.
Here is the link of magnetic PCB holder
Is that a handmade jig holding the board
Thank you for your video I subscribed and hope to see more
Thank you
thanks for watching 🌹
no You can get it from the online store.
magnetic clip of the phone board
This is what a professional looks like.
You will look nothing like this.
thanks for watching 🌹
Wouldn't it be easier to buy the board that the C charger is sitting on, yes I know it would probably cost more money but it seems like it would be less stress then trying to replace the charger itself.
not possible always 😊
OK that type C looked bad. Top tip if a type C is a problem, dig all the fluff and crap out of it first. They fill up and stop the connector working on phones.
are you sure 🤔
@@techshowmobilePhone USB sits in the bottom of your pocket and gets clogged up.
havent heard this music in some time
thanks for watching 🌹
ok 😊
when you got the skilz to pay the bilz…
🤔
Easier with soldering paste that contains solder imo. But that works too.
Great point!
What kind of flux is that xan u share?
probably AMTECH flux @@handcannon9814
yes,you are right 👍
maybe 🤔 😁
Nice job! I just fixed the charging port on a motor stylus but I replaced the whole board. Cost me $10. How much cheaper is it for just the port?
just port 5$
I would like to know where did you buy such a set of fixation tools... So brilliant device
Hello, dear friend, which one do you mean?
I always shop online

@@soundspark Yes, the classic procedure
Or.........get a Fairphone and fix that with just 1 screwdriver
yes you are right 👍
ok 😊 sure
Is this USB-C port a standard design? Pinout looks like it could pass USB 3.2/4 speeds.
you are right 👍
yes you are right 👍
thanks for watching 🌹 🌹 🌹
that sub-pba isnt that expensive. replacing that would be much cheaper
It's not always like this.
yes you are right 👍 😊
But why not clean the board before soldering the connector? Flux is bad for PCB but it´s just about making videos...
ok sure 😊👍
you are right 👍
but always not possible
Honestly from this video it doesn't look damaged at all.
Filthy maybe but I don't see any particular damage but then again, I don't have any real closeup to it nor known the boards conditions on where it went so, I'm proverbially "speaking out of my ass".
But I would have given it a full manual clean and then maybe an ultrasound and give it a try, but I don't know the context of the replacement and that's just what I'd do.
thanks for watching and info
Thats very nice, how much does it cost to replace the whol io board? :)
7 $
maybe 🤔
WATER DAMAGED PCB AND CONECTOR 😊😊😊
that's right 👍 😊
@@techshowmobile The Samsung phones are supposed to be sealed, so if the gasket between the chassis and the port held the damage should have been limited?
What's the problem؟🤔
everything is OK
I've had a couple of those type C port go bad on me
why 🙄
no it's OK 😁
I literally just paid $89 and some change to have this exact thing done to my tablet
🤔👍
Isn't it cheap just to get a free more up to date phone than paying to get it old phone fixed like this I think so
It's not always like this.
You did that perfectly! I used to be that good...😢

magnetic clip of the phone board
Love the pcb holders
me too 😊
@techshowmobile where did you get them?
Machined magnetic PCB standoffs on a metallic plate covered with a thin layer of either powdercoat paint or silicone.
I would think that the top nibs are screrw adjusted for board thickness and clamping, but fixed distance can work, i suppose...
The standoffs can be made if you have a lathe... and a bunch of neodymium pill magnets. The knurling is probably optional but can be done with a knurling tool, keeping order of operations in mind.
which pcb holder you are using
magnetic clip of the phone board
Good soldering skills, but pointless since the whole board cost 4 bucks 😅
😁👍
What temperature is being used to solder this part?
350
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
mic nya ditutupin.biar gak kepanasan.soale micnya gampang rusak
yes you are right 👍
but it's okay

i wont ever buy any samsung products because of this.i have 6 tablets,5 phones that stopoed charging tgrough the years .kids jerking on cables while charging.all aooear to be in good to exellent condition.and all have loose charge ports.taken to have fixed and was advised it wasnt worth the cost from them and would just brake even.rather than buying a used one of comparable quality.they said samsung perpiusly skimps on port qaility and even solder ing to make them fail so you buy a new one.
maybe you are right 🤔🤔🤔
please check the mic, is still okay..?
it's ok 😊
