Thank you Saravana for documenting. I'm from a small tribe in Uttarakhand and I know so much about my ancestors because people even before 1947 wrote about us in detail or mentioned us in their work. People and their cultures disappear but in some way they are kept alive by people like you.
You are welcome Giri.. I did not document anything much on this trip (the Losar celebrations of the Changpas should have been interesting to witness). But it was a great experience nonetheless.
I like that you are sharing your views and experiences (negative and positive) honestly. This is different from a lot of travel vloggers who only show the happy side - Keep up the good work and keep it raw!
Nice video. Few months back ITBP caught huge amount gold smuggled from Tibet to India near Demchuk sector. Some local ppl were caught. That could be reason for mis trust with outsider. Anyway you did right thing and once again nice video. Nyoma fuel station is operational in winter ?
There's lot cringe content on social media platforms which have millions of views and followers. But here you dont get those views. You are a true vlogeer with quality content.
Thank you. The only thing that matters is to enjoy these experiences myself. That is my primary goal.. not views and subscribers. They would be nice, i won't lie. But it is not my primary focus.
Hi Sarvanan. I would recommend a small diesel heater which is much more effective and can be left on at low setting all night long. You do not get them in India but can be got from wherever Ali Express delivers. Its also quite efficient consuming only about 2 litres per night. Secondly I did Darcha to Kargil last Oct camping for 15 days in my car. I have a Force Cruiser which is much more spacious with a dedicated 7 feet long and 5 feet wide bed. I also have a dedicated kitchen and a basin with running water. I did not have a diesel heater but have seen them working very well in few vans in Russia. I have been watching your videos for over 5 years the most favourite being the one you made from your house in TN where you explain your transition into this life. Regards Vikrant.
Thank you for the suggestion. Frankly my summer sleeping bag and a blanket is more than enough to keep me warm in the Rebo. The hot tent setup in the car is just a vanity project. I don't see myself using it regularly.. perhaps just for show from time to time, and when there is a lot of dry dung around me.
I enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing. Also, am so happy to hear a menwhopause track on your car’s sound system (min 3.08). I played with the band from 2001 to 2008
While watching the video about village heads rejection to welcome you at their locality made me felt bad as well. I have also recently visited these region recently in my Jimny last October . Fortunately my experience was good that time as I had an opportunity to visit a remote place 60 km away from Hanley called Zursar at a camp where hardly civilians go. In my case it was heart warming in that deadly cold around 16000 feet. Different folks different strokes. Wish you carry on your exploration in same enthusiasm and spirit in coming days. Thanks
The village people i met were all lovely.. i had tea and chang with many of them. It is only later in the evening when the village head came, he was saying that i shouldn't be there etc. I guess he will be in trouble if something bad happens to me, so i can understand his perspective.

Thank you.. I'am in Zanskar now and there is not much fuel for the wood stove.. I will go back to Changthang next month for some hot tent camping with the Rebo.
That's a great ending to the video. Those closing shots were phenomenal, with the wildlife surviving in such harsh conditions. I’m glad you got to experience that after what felt like a bit of a letdown (though surprising, I understand their privacy) with the village head.
Thank you.. yes the experience balanced out at the end. The concern of the headman was not privacy. But all these places were restricted areas until a year or two back. Only recently the government is allowing civilians to visit these places (Umling La, Demchok etc). They get a lot of visitors during the summer months.. but seeing me come there alone during winters might have been suspicious to the Lambadar.
Looks like an Amazing adventure trip. Sometimes the locals in such places might not want us there amongst them for various reasons. It's truly understandable. Like how we respect nature, we have to respect these people's feelings too. Appreciate your desicion to return back.
The idea of a bukhari for the car is amazing! Rebo is truly different from other Jimnys. Suzuki could have never imagined that something like this would happen with their Jimny in India. Love you, brother, from Himachal!
Thank you so much. I wanted to do this last year as well.. had the portable bukhari but had made the hole in the canopy at the wrong place. Finally corrected it for this winter and now i can enjoy the bukhari at places where there is a lot of Gobar lying around. It is too difficult for me to collect firewood and cut it to the right length for the bukhari
Every experience is unique and as long as I'm enjoying them then that's all that matters. But yes.. I look forward to some interesting stories this winter.
You make amazing videos with awesome views of lovely locations ❤❤ love it and love Jimny too ❤🎉🎉 Feel proud of Jimny owners 👏 Wildlife captured during trip is highly appreciable 🎉🎉
It did help a bit... i had already missed the Losar festivities due to my car getting stuck.. so I had already failed my purpose of going there. It would have been nice if the Lambadar was friendly though. Everyone else i met on the trip were lovely.
Absolutely.. it was my first time seeing them. Actually there were so many of them around that i feel that it should be a common sight for anyone who travels in the area.
Hot tent Jimny.... like steam engine 😍😍 Your content is amazing! Please share your videos more regularly and frequently-looking forward to seeing more of your creativity! Rahul from Manali 😁
Thanks Rahul.. Regularly and Frequently is something difficult for me. I want to enjoy my travels primarily and make these videos whenever I have some free time during my trips or when i go back home. However one of my goals this winter is to be a bit more regular, let's see how it goes.
Beautiful view and it was snowing 🌨️ too❤. You didn’t posted any video for a while it make me worried, i think you should post some reels or snapshot in between to know about your well being.
Thank you.. i didn't have any interesting videos to post in the last few months . But you are right, i could have posted some shorts from my trips. There are a lot of beautiful clips i have from my trips. I'll do that in the future. Thank you.
Idea of bukhari in rebo is excellent but I think you one proper platform outside rebo to keep bukhari at door so that you can outstretched your hands and leg while sleep
This is Danchel outdoors. At the time of buying it was definitely better than Pomoly. It is completely toolless, very easy to setup, while the Pomoly stove had a couple of nuts that you had to use with allen keys.
my only question. wouldn't the hinges of the back door get loose if you keep it open for a long time? in long term the weight of the door might harm the hinges maybe.
Is there any chance you can take someone along with you on your journeys? I would be interested to join you on journeys involving camping as two people sleeping in Jimny won't be ideal i guess. But am game for it. Willing to pay as well. Please consider
What kind of tyres were you driving on?Would it be possible to get snow chains on when you were stuck? At 13 minutes we see a little 4x2 car in the distance? When would it have got there? And got out?
I use stock tyres.. the Alto you saw goes regularly between Hanle and the Rebo camps. The bad section where i was stuck was beyond this place and the Alto obviously will not go there
my nose.. honestly i find the air vents in the car to provide adequate ventilation. I sleep with the doors closed and the engines off, so there is no chance of the car exhaust poisoning me
This is a different channel.. i didn't want to mix the car videos from the documentary and hiking videos in India in Motion. So I created a separate channel for this
@Y2Kvids with the bukhari..i have to keep the boot door open.. so there is more than enough ventilation through the tent. Even when i sleep inside the car with all doors closed there is enough ventilation, i guess coming through the air vents in the car. I've not suffocated to death while sleeping yet.. so i guess there is enough ventilation even with all the doors closed
Hello Sir Hope you're doing well.If the village head had realized the service you had done in documenting a fast vanishing way of life over the past decade or so maybe he would have been more welcome but their way of life is being threatened and it is only natural to be wary. Hope it doesn't turn you off from exploring the amazing land of high passes. 🙏🏽
Thank you.. but many village heads in the border areas are like this. They think that they will get in trouble with the authorities if i fall sick there or get into some other trouble. So they prefer that I leave. I have faced this in a few villages near the china border areas. So it was not unexpected by me.
hello there from Piyush ...nice to see a new video after quite a while. Loved the chimney idea 😅 ...any plans to buy land or home in Manali? ..I"be been contemplating but not sure where to start given the regulations
Thank you.. i have no idea or even plans to make a home in Manali at the moment. It is terribly crowded there and i realised it only after getting my car there. No place to park and always a hassle to drive in the traffic. I don't want to live in s place like that.
In 1993; I was 10 years old when we went to Manali & then Rohtang pass. We went on a petrol gypsy soft top. Then we saw at least 15+ feet high snow on both sides and the road was in between. Again I went with friends in 2010 but saw a small dirty snow patch some 400-500 feet on a slope. Other than that no snow. This is very disturbing how climate change is affecting everything & everyone.
