The Spongebob calendar has 12 items. So it could be a 12 Days of Christmas calendar. That would start on the 25th Dec. Not sure why they call it an advent calendar though. Advent ends on the 24th. Smaller brands seem to have had a lot of delays w their releases all years so they probably got this delivered late
@@teresamulhern I'm probably too old for Sponge Bob, but I like his cute little face, so I was interested in getting one item, but now is not the time. I might pick something if it arrives in Europe but I think I'll probably forget about it by that time 😌
I used to like glamlite quite a bit, but I think they set in motion this business model over 2 years ago where they are purposefully fast fashion of makeup.
I've never bought for Glamlite because everything I wanted was always out of stock. The Tiktok exclusive deals, the humongous amount of releases, and the overpriced palettes on the European second-hand market stopped me from even considering buying from them. I don't understand how you can keep up popping (or should I say pooping) releases at this pace and excepting people to be excited every time 😂
I feel like GlamLite is their own worst enemy. The seemed to peak with that Scooby Doo Halloween collection and stumbled through Chucky, Betty Boop Freddy and Friday the 13th. Some hits. more misses. I'm glad I have what I have from them but I'm not interested in them as a company. There has to be something said about a company that uses IPs for everything. It's like they don't think their makeup on it's own is enough. They're probably right. mur
I agree- scooby doo was probably the peak for them- or possibly scream? But I also agree- they don’t have their own image outside of an IP, and I just find that sad… even MUR have their own image outside of IPs
Nothing interests me this week. Yeah! Bit of news: half of the Pat McGrath stuff is on deep discount on Sephora Canada. Usually, it’s a sign they are exiting the market. How they could mess up their brand so bad is beyond me. The postal service in Canada is coming back (sadly, not because they came to an agreement). Conserving Beauty was founded by Australian Biochemistry graduate and Skincare supply chain and sustainable procurement professional, Natassia Niocolau Grace. Honestly I had not heard of her or her business before, but this is a very hasty summary of info I found tonight. Also posted about the InstaMelt technology and patents
Conserving Beauty's carbon footprint is tracked by 3rd party rePurpose Global's Bluebird platform. Conserving Beauty's sustainability claims are tracked and verified by Project Provenance. The InstaMelt soluble wipes - patent held by McCormack Innovations - are certified by Water UK and the Water Research Council's 7-step tested 'Fine to Flush' certification
I HATE when companies throw out “Eco friendly and sustainable” but don’t tell you how. It dissolving doesn’t mean it was sourced sustainably or has a low carbon footprint. What about this product is actually sustainable?
That’s the thing- I’ve looked into it and there’s some info on it- about it being independently clinically tested with 56 people (presumably for the skincare benefits). But it’s hard to find info on the sustainability of the product itself- a lot around sustainability isn’t legislated though- biodegradable isn’t a protected term for instance. I’d love if they were a little more forthcoming on the information around this- it shouldn’t be such a chore to find. I’m hoping it’s legit, because it would be great if it was. Apparently the brand conserving beauty is run by a conservation scientist- but I personally value having open data and having the sustainability of these things being independently checked (not just the skincare aspects). But I could be interpreting it wrong- it’s just hard to find.
Yes, if your product is truly sustainable, why not divulge the information. We need more sustainability within the beauty community especially. The consumers shouldn’t have to jump through hoops and go on a goose chase to confirm or disprove a products green claims. It’s the same with all the “clean” beauty labels on makeup and skin care products, let’s not label things with buzz words and gimmicks to make a sale. I want to see what makes your product better, cleaner, greener than the next guys. Especially considering most consumers DON’T research their products. I think this is what most companies are banking on though. They can make somewhat true claims and no one will challenge it. Or at the very least, few consumers will challenge it. I truly hope this products claims are true and we can start seeing more sustainable beauty products and a turn for more affordable ones as well.
@ exactly- if people want to make informed decisions on their purchases… give them the access to that information. I found it hard to find- and although they did do independent clinical research, it seemed to be more on the skincare benefits (which is great- love that)… but I want to see the data (cos I’m a nerd)- unfortunately things like p-hacking and data manipulation does occur in the sciences and we have to be a bit more scientifically literate to pick up on it
MOB Beauty has a good formulating provenance, with the former chief chemist and managing director of MAC, Victor Casale. And I'll dig around for the verifiable science behind the "patented water-soluble polymer which is then treated with Conserving Beauty’s anhydrous formulations to create revolutionary skincare solutions that dissolve instantly in water after use"

Definitely with you when it comes to my foundations I would rather spend a little more for something that I know is going to look good and do well with my skin and if I want to cut back on other things because let's face it there are a lot of steps in a makeup routine where you don't have to spend billions of dollars and achieve a great look foundation is definitely one of those things that I would rather pay a little bit more for. After all it is the first thing going down anything on top of it in my opinion if you have a crappie bass is going to look crappy over it! I just was on a foundation hun I must have tried 25 different foundations some that were very affordable other very high-end I finally found one that works for me it's somewhere in the middle but on the little bit of a pricey side but it's worth it (imo) I absolutely agree it can definitely make or break 👍

Tarte does considerable sales that last around 5 days + w 30 to 40% and do so at least 5 to 6 times each year plus additional separate days where spec products are off 50% they have been doing that for years and you can rely on it
