As per one of the most accepted international university ranking system - the QS world university ranking MIT is the top and the top Indian university is IIT Bombay at 118. My son is doing Masters in RWTH Aachen university in Germany which is in 99 th position in the world overall and his discipline is material engineering which is at 25 th place in the world.( just for comparison where the no 1 indian university stands in world ranking )
