Rick's Slavic gibberish actually sounds pretty realistic. Everyone who lives in Pittsburgh has Slavic friends, even if we're not ourselves, so we've heard a lot of Slavic speech and music. Of course if you're of a certain age, you grew up with local polka shows just like this.

Linsk is playing a budget priced right handed guitar which he has converted to a left handed instrument by switching the strings around. That's why the volume and tone controls are inconveniently at the top when he plays it. This is what high school kids do when they can't afford a left handed guitar, as few budget manufacturers offer them. Unfortunately you have to take a file to the guitar nut to widen the grooves originally for the thinner strings so the fatter strings will go into them. But then, conversely, the thin strings roam around as they are now going into wider grooves. Some kids stuff little tufts of tissue into them. This little jibe at Linsk is unnoticed by many viewers. He's playing on TV, but he can't spring for a proper instrument!
