I must say I enjoyed the tutorial you are great but where am confused is at the overburst tightening will it not short the material if you don't add what will be removed from it.
@@fatimoaderonke2968 If the corset will have a zip at the back then you should add what you removed back when adding allowance to it but since it’s a lace up back, you don’t need to add it back.

No dear, you’ll leave that bust dart closed, that was why I taped it down.

You’re welcome dear.
If you want to use a zipper then it’ll be an inbuilt corset.
If you want to attach a skirt to it then you should just wear the skirt and use your mirror and mark where you want it to start and the style you want.

Do you add seam allowance to the side when cutting the fabric?
I didn’t add allowance while drafting but when I’ll cut on my fabric I’ll add allowance round my pattern for sewing the pieces together
Can you clarify for me please, if you open back the bust dart on the side front panel?
Additionally, the difference of my client's front and back length is 3 inches. After closing the bust dart, the side panel looks quite leaned
Okay, after closing that dart, ensure you match up the lines from the armhole to the waist.
Hello thank God I came across this video. But my question is how do u measure half length for back and front separately.
You can tie a rope on your client waist line then you take the measurements from the shoulder down to the rope for both front and back and you’ll see the difference. The front is going to be more than the back because of the bust that’s why the difference is used as the bust dart so the front and back pattern will match.
Hello ma'am thank you for your tutorial. But pls my client a nursing mum has a shp of 36 and a bust of 39 and my problem is that there's nothing left to take the 2nd dart

@@AggieInyang-tj3ck Since you’re snatching her waist, you won’t use her normal waist measurement, you’ll reduce her waist measurement to 32 or 33 or 34 depending on how much you want to snatch from her waist, but you’re not going to be using zip at the back because that’s not her normal waist measurement

When you measure your client, or yourself you'll find out that your front half length is longer than your back half length due to the breast in the front. It's that difference that you'll use as your bust dart so your front and back pattern will align.

You explain so well. But for the back pattern dart, why didn't you just use the nipple to nipple measurement like you use for the front?

28 but I didn’t place my waist measurement on my waist before snatching. What I placed there is my bust measurement and I came in by 1 inch to create the contour on the waist line before snatching my waist measurement to 26inches. I hope you’ll get it.
