Thanks for watching! If your dishwasher’s upper rack adjuster has broken, replacing it with a genuine OEM part is your best option for a long-lasting fix. Be careful when ordering from sites like Amazon or eBay, as many aftermarket adjusters are made from cheaper materials and tend to wear out or fail more quickly. For reliable, high-quality parts, you can find the WPW10546503 dishrack adjuster on our site at partsdr.com/part/w10546503-dishrack-adjuster. A quality part will save you time and money in the long run. Good luck with the repair and let us know how it goes!
This is a great instructional video! The clear step by step instructions with accompanying video made the job easy.. I was able to fix my dishwasher rack in about 20 minutes.
Very helpful Parts Dr.!! I was able to replace both sides ( only one was broken, but . . you know ). What I find ridiculous is the tiny little plastic tabs that hold up the entire upper shelf and whatever dishes you put in it. That is the fault of the manufacturer, not Parts Dr. I am certain the high heat drying did in the plastic. No more high heat drying for us.
Thanks for the video, but what purpose do those side adjusters serve? I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher but haven't quite figured out the purpose of those side adjusters.
@@PartsDr Aha. Ok, thanks. I wish there was a way to adjust the rack spaces. My bowls keep falling out of the spaces that the bowls are designed to fit into. It's very annoying. It's probably the one thing I hate most about this dishwasher.
One of the flexy, dimpled T-shaped tabs broke off on mine. It looks as if it has on yours, as well. Does this serve any purpose? Not sure if I need to replace for this or not.
I saw another video that showed you had to press that tab on the front end to lift the rack up. Both front tabs have broken off on my adjusters. It doesn't look like they are used on the rear, as the adjuster is lifted out at the front. I was expecting this video was going to tell me just to swap sides, so the good tabs are now on the front.

They can be used to raise and lower the upper dishrack.

It looks like they help to hold the dishrack in place and locks the rack into the sliding side rails.
